I bet the Browns wish Sam Darnold out of USC was draft eligible this year.

The Browns aren't in any rush.  They're looking fix other areas first (they've spent a lot on the O Line) and lots of draft capital next year if they fall for a potential franchise QB.  Last thing they want is a young QB who would get a beating thanks to a shitty line in front of him.

Speaking of shitty protection, how did Matt Kalil get $25mill guaranteed off the Panthers?  He was past it 2 years ago and did his level best to get Sam Bradford murdered last season.

Just because your salary cap figure is more this year than last year is nowhere near good enough reason to spend $25million on a revolving door at left tackle.

Meanwhile:
@MaryKayCabot
I'm told #Patriots would likely want #Browns No. 1 overall this yr & prob 1st in '18 for Jimmy. 12+ prob won't do it

If we're in the fantasy business, I would like a threesome with Kate Upton and Kate Beckinsale. My fantasy is much more likely to happen than the Pats one.

I agree but we just saw Cleveland take a QB who'll never take a snap for them because they have so much money.

Lots of teams do. That kid is special.
Yes mate - I re-watched the Rose Bowl game from last year and he put in the single best individual performance I've seen in recent memory in college football.

He was spinning the magic bean  ;D

Best QB prospect coming out of colleg since Andrew Luck - in my opinion better.

With the 1st pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots select Myles Garrett, Defensive End, Texas A & M.

It's part of the process dude, they'll come out of it. The signs were there last year, I thought they were better than their record.

Yep, there were definitely signs but next year promises to be brutal. Big year for both the GM and the coach.

I suppose it was the right time to move on from Cutler and plan longer term, so fingers crossed there's a potential franchise QB somewhere in this draft for the Bears.

Why did your club release Alshon Jeffrey?
Not Ryan Pace's guy, I suppose. Also violated the PED policy last year but I'm unsure how much of an effect that's had.

All in on Kevin White now. Hasn't really managed to stay healthy so far though!

Also, interesting to see Jeffrey reject a longer term contract from the Vikings. Probably fancies Wentz over Bradford.

Cook actually did fine last year when healthy, but Bennett is an upgrade so happy about that. Very unlike TT to venture into free agency this early. Still would've liked to have seen some kind of outside free agent signing at cornerback or pass rusher, but there's still some mid-level guys left.

The Chicago Bears are expected to release quarterback Jay Cutler after eight seasons with the franchise.

Dunno about you, but when i play Madden  franchise mode I am brutal. The players just have to go if they cost too much and don't perform to their dollar value.  Cutler may be the best example of that ever. Well apart from various,  many Al Davis projects  (loved the guy).

Detroit replace Warford and Reiff with Lang and Wagner for less money. Should be a pretty significant upgrade and weakens the Packers a little.

The NFC North is my favourite division in football, I'm really hoping it blows up this year and is just fucking nuts again.

Adrian Peterson met with the Seahawks today apparently. After the Seahawks saying they weren't going to meet up with him :D

A cheap-ish deal that only guarantees one year might be a decent idea. Makes sense to go for him rather than someone like Charles, as Prosise could develop into a very good 3rd down back/receiver off the backfield. Still, it's not going to matter until they overall the OLine, and they haven't done anything in FA to address the mess there apart from signing Joeckel from the Jags despite plenty of talent being available, especially at the guard spots. They apparently met with TJ Lang, but he ended up signing with the Lions.
