Man City -2 , right? I mean, they played at home, expected to win them all.

I'd be amazed if 90 points was enough to win it this year, for what it's worth. I think 95 is the base, for as long as that bald prick is in charge at city at least.

Long term, I expect "reversion to the mean" to kick in, so in a few years time, we'll be back to a 90pt target, but yes, it's hard to see that being enough this season. As other teams get stronger, we should start to see those totals fall, though. I don't think City's business model is remotely sustainable, and the age of oil dependency could be coming to a close, which would throw them off considerably.

But yeah, this season it's probably going to be 95 or so at least.
Fuck the Daily Mail.

I start sharing the graphs from the third round of fixtures.  Before that it doesn't show much and is too clustered to see clearly.

Anybody know the last time only 2 teams had 100% win record after two rounds? That seems to me to be an extremely rare occurrence.

And down to only one team after three rounds now.......

Just two teams? Yeah, interested to read when it was. Another rare occurrence must have been last season as well where us and Chelsea had 5 wins out of our 5 first games. We went one more until we played them at London.

This last round was weird, considering that almost all visiting teams won, except one yesterday (*ahem*) and another one drew today from a winning position in the 97th minute... Weird...

Been missing your graphs this summer ;D
Specifically love this table you added last season.
Would it be possible to shift the Man City table up a few places so its directly below our table?
I think it would make it much simpler to compare and contrast our results.

Appreciate all the effort!

Thanks, Prof! If it's not too much trouble, could you change the order of the green/red tables? Would be nice to have City right after us, maybe Arse and Spurs next. I remember that doing that mid season was cumbersome, but was wondering if it's doable now.

Either way, cheers for your work!

Edit:  Oops, saw that Doc beat me to that request...

They are identical to Man Utd and I couldn't be bothered to reformat the lines to show them just to have to put them back later.  I guess I could have used a decimal to offset the line slightly, but I didn't think it that important at this stage.

The green bars fill from the left to indicate the number of points won at home and away respectively.

The blue marker on those bars indicate where you need to get to for a 90 point season based on average performances of league winners.

The red fills from the right to indicate points that have been dropped, so essentially show the maximum points that can still be achieved at home and away respectively.

At the end of the season, the green and red bars meet at the points total achieved.

The teams are listed in order above the home bar and below the away bar.  They are in order from left to right based on their league position the previous season.  As each team is played, they get highlighted based on the result against them.  Green is a win, Amber a draw, red a loss.  Hopefully this shows who each team has still got to play and also a quick visual as to where points were lost.
