Just finished John Wick 3. Wasn't very impressed. Spent most of it wanting him to get a bullet to the eye.

Toy Story 4 was amazing, no idea how these guys keep doing it

Because each film is given a proper gestation period, with writes and re-writes, and with a long enough gap between releases to build up love and anticipation for the franchise.

Rather than a new CGI-fest being pumped out every 6 months by machine.

WTF! I used to live in Hoole! What were they doing there (besides eating dinner)? Was it the Shanghai?

Yeah, the Shanghai. hahaha.

There was a comic-con thing on in Wrexham, apparently, and Kiefer ended up in Hoole after asking for a recommendation for a Chinese restaurant. He liked it so much, he came back the next night with Ron Perlman.

For me they were both what I thought they would be. Not great but somewhat enjoyable in their own way. I did like him in Black Panther and I thought Fruitvale Station was very good.

It's a shame because he will never be in anything as good as The Wire but there's not a lot he can do about that  ;D

Nope.

Urban was pushing for it as was the rest of the team behind it but due to a poor box office and sales, they can’t justify a sequel.

That Elizabeth Harvest is quite okay - not sure if I've mentioned it on here, but I quite liked it.

And I also realised how Ciaran Hinds is so similar to Al Pacino, it is unreal.

Bit of a creepy thinky sci-fi film... The lead actress is very watchable and you can't take your eyes off of her.

Give it a go.

Nice one - will give it a watch .

Anyone seen the sci fi flick High Life ? Gets highly favourable reviews . I'll watch anything in the genre but had to turn it off - a first for me . Just couldn't get into it .

Claire Denis' films tend to be pretty divisive to be fair.

I'm looking forward to it, but will probably watch White Material first.

I've seen High Life.

The litmus test for whether you'll enjoy it is if you like deeply contemplative, cerebral sci-fi slowburns like 2001 or Solaris without the mystery element of those films (don't be fooled into thinking there's a mystery to uncover - there isn't). If the answer is yes, you might well enjoy this.

But I don't like 2001. I've seen it twice and it's been a slog both times. I liked Solaris, but I think that is a far more elegant and self-contained movie in terms of its conceit and execution.

I don't like this, because it's largely navel gazing. It's no without action, but very little of the action is linked to any kind of plot or payoff. Arguably, none of it is.

There is talk of a TV series but that talk has been going on for a few years now.

Last I heard they had a pilot written and about 2 series of storylines.

I'm surprised someone like Netflixs hasn't snapped it up.

Was Fairly Meh any good?

Started off quite good but kind of lost its way I thought in the second half.

I know they were rushed for time, but the way they presented the fellas problems came cross as something that just wouldn't happen in the way it did.

Then him reacting as quickly to the other fella seemed contrived, sudden and pointless.

If they'd managed to keep the second half as good as the first then it would have been a great film.

Does Rebel Wilson not get pissed off that even in CGI cat form she's a lardarse?

If she lost her weight, she wouldn't be a funny, outlandish, cuddly, bubbly lovebug that she gives off and no-one would employ her stereotype. In time, when she gets bored of being a stereotype, she'll go to a diet farm, lose that weight, tell everyone her true name and age, and try to be taken as an actor/actress. There will probably be a story in there of the fat-shaming she's had to put up with and she'll eventually end up on Big Brother when people catch onto her.

I know James Corden lost a lot of weight when he... lost all that weight... But mainstream America will still see him as a British John Candy. He's a different beast as I think he was an 'actor' first, and sort of became a funny-man through the years.

Point being, the fact that these two 'celebrity performers' have been cast in Cats shows you how desperate they are to appeal to as wiiiiiide a range of audience as possible.
