Suarez is two sets up against Kabak.

Fowler is the line judge.

Just gonna have a look to see what the score is....oh, Fordy is talking about Luis Suarez in the tennis thread during an Australian Open semi final....

The semi final is boring. You know Djokovic is winning and going to win.

Suarez is two sets up against Kabak.

Fowler is the line judge.

You have to admire his commitment to inspecting those close line calls so thoroughly.

Today's match is another reason why Djokovic is a massive favourite to win.  He'll be fresh as a daisy after that gentle workout, whereas the other semi could be gruelling encounter.

Never get comments like this. Emotions run high in sport.

So you never song the Suarez song or cheered when he scored. Have you objected about Kabak playing for us? How about Fowler doing the line?

When you are a winner sometimes its hard to control yourself. We all make mistakes. I think you should get over it and accept what happens at time to time in sport.

I think my comment is a lot more mature than yours to be honest, because it's not a mistake that she has apologised for. Nor do I believe that it's something that should happen in sport. Nor do I discount the fact that my own judgment might be clouded.

You're also drawing a false equivalence. Did you accept Buffon harassing the referee when they played Real Madrid, well in to the press conference and beyond? Cos even he apologised eventually.

Because I don't want Buffon to win when he plays someone I like. I didn't want Serena to beat Osaka.

Though, the Suarez thing is a case in point, though a separate one; I truly believed he was innocent, probably because he played for us and he was the thing keeping us relevant. That is also something I have to think about to be honest, but it is a separate point. he played for my team and I enjoyed when my team scored. Serena plays in an individual sport, I have no feelings for her winning a point.

I can relate to the way Serena was/is, she's a person who hates to lose, and cannot stand it when she's losing.

I cannot stand to lose at anything, especially things I am good at.

This made me laugh:

Quote
Djokovic has struggled with an abdominal injury during the tournament but showed no signs of the problem against Karatsev.

"This is the best I have felt in the entire tournament. It felt great, I could swing through the ball and no pain," he said.

"It was my best match so far and came at the right time. I'm thrilled."

What a guy!

Imagine how good Novak would be if he didn't have to play with a ruptured spleen, appendicitis and an inguinal hernia.

Agreed. Just imagine if all the tennis players who needed a time out, and or injury break during a game when they are struggling massively could come back like Novak and proceed to dismantle their opponents like he does

He could be a billionaire if he sold that drink he takes 😉

Which makes your view even worse.

So what you are saying its ok or make an excuse for someone to do something bad if like them but if you don't like them you hang them out to dry.

Ok that's fair! Me I just understand that people make mistakes and move on.

I've never known anyone to win so many GS whilst being seriously injured.

It's as if he isn't really injured at all.

Think tennis needs to look at these medical time outs to be honest. Some clear use it to their advantage.

He can beat Djokovic.

Think he was the only man that could on these courts.

Head to head is 4-3 to Djokovic so it is close.

I still have Medvedev as favourite, he’s won 3 of the last 4 against Djokovic and his record on these kind of surfaces dating back to the middle of 2019 is astoundingly good.

He presents all kinds of issues for Djokovic.

You've got an uncanny knack of facilitating turnarounds when you slag someone off Fordy :D

Can you start doing it with Liverpool. Just go and post how we're gonna get smashed tomorrow.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

365 have it 4/5 Djokovic and Evs Medvedev, so it’s almost a coin flip for them too. I favour Medvedev, it’s not outrageous to think so in my opinion.

Yeah, there's no way he's the favourite!  He's 17-0 in GS compared to Medvedev, and won 8 Aussie opens.  No way he goes into the final as the underdog.

Obviously, I'm hoping to see him taken apart like he was in the ATP finals last year.

Never really warm to both players.

Medvedev has the most awkward swing on tour so hopefully that will count for something.

He looks really awkward, but that's his unique style.  He can find ridiculous angles on both wings, plus his movement is fantastic.  If he's on top of his game in the final, it'll be a really tough match for Djokovic!

I hope Medvedev smashes Lazarus...err Djokovic on Sunday.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Rome finals today. Iva Swiatek double bagled Karolina Pliskova 6-0 6-0 in 45 minutes.
Utter humiliation for Pliskova, but Swiatek will be short odds to retain at Roland Garros next month.
