Shocking stuff.  Wouldn't get any club in the Premier League circumventing the rules and doing dodgy stuff like that.  No Siree.

I wonder what the owners of Reading, Derby and Aston Villa are thinking at the moment

Went to Brentford this afternoon for my son’s birthday. 5 up at halftime, won 7-0. Think the Luton keeper took a bung. :D Spent most of the second half following our game.

Plenty of goals flying in in the Championship today though.

Eh? Thought it was a great game, end to end, some good football and some great saves. Most refreshing thing was no diving or play acting, very honest. Ref was good too kept it flowing.

Loads of goals in the division today and West Brom beating Leeds as we stand.

Gary Rowett has had one hell of a good start at Millwall, they're in the play-off spots now. The table is so tight, will be very interesting to see who gets those play-off positions.

They are there on merit, Brentford are a good side and Millwall's form under Rowett is automatic promotion form. There are much bigger and richer clubs in the division who they are both outperforming so good for them, always like to see that in football.

They’ve been well run for a while now. Every year they sell a couple of their bigger players but they haven’t as yet suffered from it. Mostly the players who’ve left haven’t done as well elsewhere (Jota, Dean, Hogan, Mepham). Maupay was the best player they’ve had and he’s holding his own at Brighton. Even the manager left them and they’ve steadily improved. They seem to have a steady supply of Scandinavians and French forwards. They play a 433 and are solid enough (at Championship level) at the back and in midfield and when their forwards get enough ball they link together well and causes lot of problems.

If they can up they could be like a Sheff Utd although more realistically they’d struggle. New stadium next year (can go either way) but their model seems quite sustainable. Bit surprised we don’t ever try and loan players there given how they play.

Brentford have one of the best scouting systems around. They've bought into stats in a way few clubs have below the top divisions and they're making mountains. Wheels fell off last season when Smith jumped ship but they've rebounded.

Rooney debut tonight. Either falling about on his arse or hattrick incoming.

He got an assist from a free-kick.

In other Rooney News.

Former England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has spoken about the negative effect gambling had on him during his career.

The 34-year-old, who made his debut for Championship side Derby this week, described how he was "sucked in" by initial success with gambling before ending up losing money and then "chasing his bets" to try and win it back.

Rooney decided to speak out about his personal turmoil after facing criticism over Derby's decision to give him the No.32 shirt in association with betting sponsor, online casino 32Red. Rooney had accumulated up a £700,000 ($1.3 million) debt by the age of 20.

United's all-time leading goal-scorer blamed boredom and unlimited telephone gambling for the habit but he has since quit gambling altogether, insisting he has "learned from my mistakes".

Speaking on a video for 32Red's 'Stay In Control' gambling awareness campaign, the former England captain said: "I was a young lad who'd just come into a lot of money.

"For an away game with Manchester United you stay in a hotel – and with England you're in a hotel for seven to 10 days.

"You get bored and do things to fill the time. At that time gambling was one of them.

"It was easy to place bets by phone. It didn't feel like real money. It wasn't like I had to go into a bookies and put bets where there are limits.

"Before you know it you've lost a good bit and you don't realise the amount you're putting on at the time. I won at the start and thought it was easy money. It sucks you in a bit more and I ended up losing, ended up down.

"I was chasing my bets trying to win my money back. You're there to play for your country or club and when you're losing money the way I was, then it will affect you.

"Thankfully I managed to pay up what I lost and I didn't gamble again. I've learned from my mistakes. If you carry on gambling, you lose more. That's when you can get sucked into a bad situation."

Leeds lost today as Bielsa got Schooled by Garry Monk once again. Brentford only 6 points behind Leeds and Leeds have a tendency to bottle it there is a decent chance Brentford finish above them in the top two.

Brewster starts for Swansea. Big game for his debut, hope he does well.
