It took us 2h from the final whistle until we were dropped off at the park.

Ah ok sorry.

We were on the buses straight to airport after game.

Which was more waiting around.... Queue after queue.

Back home to bed 430 am work for 8am

Not bothering with buses anymore rather take our chances mixing in with home fans. Got in literally just on kickoff and sat on the buses in the centre for ages.

And that’s exactly the issue of the lack of information we get-people will choose to not go on them.

The coaches for me are a decent idea.

You can make your own mind up on if they are to protect you or to contain you or manage you or all the above, but they work well. You can’t fault how many police were out, not that for this I think there was any indication of issues. You feel safe, it can sometimes be a good atmosphere and it’s free!

The issue is the lack of credible information.

If you’d gone at 3pm like indicated, you’d have not moved for over 2 and a half hours-and 3 before entering the stadium.

I’m not saying it’s easy. It must be hard. But it’s not ok to wait around so long.

But if we constantly get these issues people will make their own way.

The other issue from red star was the over the top searches and only 2 turnstiles.

Couple that with loads arriving at once from the coaches, it meant chaos again.

It’s not easy, but really should not be these issues-otherwise people will stop using-and at the moment I believe the massive majority do use.

The other issue is these grounds are just not acceptable today. For example 4 toilets between over 2000 people?

Anyway. Loved Belgrade. Really nice people.

It’s getting to the point where sitting in the home end is preferable.

I love this post, I did that in Liverpool vs Red Star. Worked great, I did wear Liverpool gear just in case ;).

As far as Belgrade goes, and since Liverpool is Red and White you would probably be fine in every section except North. There they expect you to be part of the show, so might be good idea to avoid it.

I just meant you get treated like humans in the home end. You have facilities, you aren’t made to waste hours getting there, you’re not imprisoned after the game, and you’re not forced onto buses you don’t want to get onto afterwards.

We walked to the game from our hotel on Tuesday stopping at a few bars along the way. We chatted to and got photies with loads of Red Star fans - had a great time. We weren’t allowed to walk back the same way, through empty streets, and were forced onto a bus to somewhere we didn’t want to be. Our treatment as away Liverpool fans is disgusting.

I don't know about elsewhere, but in Belgrade its probably because of history between Red Star and Partizan fans, cops got sick of their shit and dont leave anything yo chance. But I know what you mean, especially if there is no animosity between the fan groups like in this case.

And since you are there on short time you want to enjoy city and bars more, rather than be stuck in cage. I really think since Ultras stayed they should have escorted you out earlier and let ultras stay as long as the want.

Got back at midnight on Wednesday...still knackered! Cracking trip though, 7 of us started at Arsenal on Saturday, flew to Eindhoven on Sunday morning, train to Rotterdam to see the Feyenoord/Venlo match...that lasted a whole 44 seconds until the floodlights went out so it was eventually abandoned  :( back to Eindhoven and then on to Belgrade on Monday. Loved the city, didn't feel unsafe at any point which was exactly as most had predicted. Swerved the busses and got taxis instead, walked past the Red Star supporters with no issues at all. Like everyone else, getting in to the ground was a shambles but more than often it always it at Euro aways so it was to be expected...not that it makes it right. Was great to see so many regular faces...you know who you are  ;)

Oh and the match, a very poor performance but that's football. Other results have helped us massively so it is still very much in our own hands...onwards and upwards!

Can't wait for the next one...Paris in less than 3 weeks!

i watched the chelsea game at my sisters. her 12 year old son is severly autistic and i forgot myself and jumped up screaming at the goal and he went nuts. screaming and shouting. scared the fuck out of me. apologised to my sister as i thought id upset him, turns out he was joining in.

Good trip all in all and six days on the ale. Paying for it now like. What done my head once inside the ground is you had the toilets opposite the ' cafe ' which sold no food and people trying to get in all within a few feet . Then you had one staircase for 2,000 people . Getting in was a joke too and one arl fella said to one of the scouse stewards that your not old enough to know what we went through which was a nice way of putting it.

You are held . You are loved . You are seen  - Some wise fella .

We jumped a taxi to the ground and got in the ground no hassle.

Boss trip, just shame about the result in the end.
