Probably a good move for all parties. Those thinking Rodgers would be able to get a bigger job after Celtic were clearly deluding themselves.

This is interesting. Rodgers has said privately he will stay to the end of the season, Celtic would want 5 million in compensation. It appears Leicester are pushing for it to happen now. This is from Ewan Murray in the Guardian.

Should get a caretaker till end of season. There need 3 wins and a couple of draws to be safe this season

Rodgers leaving now when he has a chance to do treble treble doesn't make sense

Can’t help thinking they should see the season out and then go all in for Rafa - but I am quite excited to see Bren again, it has the potential to be spectacular.

Good luck to him. That’s a decent appointment for Leicester too, the other names at the top of the betting odds were uninspiring (not including Rafa as didn’t see him in there).

About as good a job as he could have hoped for. They do seem to be phasing out some of the old title winners and have a pretty good crop of youngsters there to work with. And we’ve played them twice so they can’t directly impact us this season. Have they played Spurs twice?

Can't blame him for getting out of Celtic. It's probably the best PL job that's likely to come up soon (Chelsea will always be a basket case).

Leicester now have a reputation of having an itchy trigger finger when it comes to managers though. They sacked Ranieri less than a year after the most improbably title win ever. (And they were never going down that year).

Really?  I'd expect nothing other than a good 4 or 5 goal tonking by City.

Perfect job for him though, so no wonder he's interested, it's all about timing for managers, and he can't afford to hold out till the end of the season. Likely they said to him it has to be now.

Rodgers would set his team up perfectly for City. Attempting to go toe-to-toe with them on the attacking front (to show the Brodge produces football equally as good as Guardiola) and walking away with a 6-0 spanking.

Leicester with Puel where actually ok against some of the big clubs, so not sure where this sudden idea that having an ex Liverpool manager somehow means they'll try more vs the Plastic Mancs. I'd expect nothing more than City to stroll through a Rodgers defense with some ease. The game might be more pleasing on the eye than with Puel in charge though. That's about it.

Excited to see Rodgers back in the PL. There's a good amount of young talent there at Leicester and the board/owner has backed managers in the past in the transfer market. Getting the right players in with Rodgers is a whole different story but the base is there for this to be a good job for him.
