He doesn't fit in our system but I think he could be effective through the middle, playing the role Sturridge did.

Sure he doesn't,all the data you have on him proves it right ?

Under normal circumstances, he'd probably get some kind of reprimand for that*, but I doubt the EFL would dare right now. Good.

Instead, in a deliciously ironic twist, those two goals have led to the sacking of Jonathan Woodgate. (Yeah, I'm sure he's a reformed character these days now he's no longer hanging around with Lee Bowyer, but... wevs.)

*on the basis of it being a political message, a la Fowler's support for the dockers.

Hope he can close out the season well. We don't have a huge amount of attackers so it'll be good to have him back in the ranks to see whether Klopp can develop him further

Scores a free kick for Swansea at Milwall, lovely free kick I should add. Hits the cross bar then the keeper and goes im, hope they don’t take it off him. He’s had a very quiet game but missed a golden chance in the first half, great to see him score and getting minutes.

That's a bit harsh

Harsh is an understatement. Coutinhos hat trick goal against Spartak took an absolute monster of a deflection if I recall correctly and that was given to him.

If I was Brewster I’d defo be claiming that as mine.

If it didn’t hit the goalkeeper would it have gone in?

Special player would love him to stay with us as a squad option next season rather than going out on loan again, he's a natural born goalscorer and those are extremely hard to find in world football.

Has he bulked up a bit in lockdown/ this season? I don't see enough of him to know but looking like there's a bit more of him upper body wise than there was.

Re the goal and whether it would have gone in, I guess probably not in that to hit the goalie after hitting the bar it must have been moving away from the goal. However, if someone who's shot IMMEDIATELY gets deflected (with no way of telling if it was goal bound or not) is credited with a goal it feels pretty harsh that something as darned close as the free kick wouldn't count as Brewster's goal.

Problem for me is game time. Loan time in the championship will really help his development.

Always good when a loan move is beneficial, and this one seems to be working well for him, he’s getting to play loads and making a very positive impact.

Been a few successful loads recently, with Brewster, also Wilson, and Grujic of course. Even if they don’t make it here, at least it helps them make a big step in their development, and puts them out there as it where, and helps the club sell them if necessary.

Agreed. A loan deal at a team likely to be at the top of the Championship would be great. I said a while ago that I would love to see him go to Leeds and play under Bielsa for a year. Leeds need a goal scorer but I am not sure how much it helps getting a loan at a newly promoted teams. I guess the alternative is a loan to the Bundesliga.

Can't wait to see how he develops.

A loan to a strong championship team next season would help him further in his development. As much as I would like him to have the exposure like Greenwood is getting, with Origi and Minamino ahead of him, we may not be able to give him the minutes that he needs

How is that an OG

Hit the bar and the ball was travelling away from the goal after hitting it, before then hitting the keeper and going in.

If he were to go out on loan next season I'd like to see him go to a prem team.  It's OK going to a championship team for some, but I think he has the potential to step it up another level and this would be a good test for him and a good chance for him to see how he fairs in the PL.

I think we've got a big summer next season with getting backup for the front 3 due to the AFCON in 2022 and the front 3 won't be getting any younger.  We've no idea how Covid-19 will pan out, what long term effects it has financially, so this is a great chance for Klopp to see how he does in the PL

Exactly my thoughts as well mate. Hard to believe they’ve got 7 goals period, he gets no service whatsoever. Seems hungry to press and win the ball in good areas though, predatory strikers instincts

hope bournemouth are still in epl next season. Maybe he could be a big difference for teams fighting for relegation. Somewhere like leeds, if promoted, or saints would be good too as both teams and managers have about the same philosophy as us.

Great for his confidence that he's getting goals but next season he needs to be playing in a better side that can actually pass the ball around so he can work on his build up play. If Leeds were to lose Bamford would be great to see Brewster there under Bielsa.

That's not to say he can't adapt in the future but Bobby is unique in the role he plays.

Only an issue if we continue to play 4-3-3, though. One might argue that if Jones and Elliott start to set up, along with Takumi, then we'll have options aplenty for a 4-2-3-1, with Ox, Naby, Firmino all options to play behind the forward, Firmino, Mo and Mane all able to play across the front 4. In that context, having a player like a Brewster as the 9 starts to make a lot more sense.

I would go so far as to say that if we don't reinforce with a Werner type player that it already makes sense with the squad we have to play more games in a 4-2-3-1 than we do now.
