Point still stands

Well, it doesn't as I dont live there.

As for the kids having kids and wearing fake tans I would levy that against the country and not just Watford.

For the record I wouldn't live in Watford either.

Dont take it personal, I know your area and those mentioned. I grew up in Perivale, moved to Sudbury and at one time went to college in Kensal Green. That is why I can safely say Harlesden is a shithole.

It's alright mate I was only joking with you. The Watford point I made still stands even though you might not be from there everything I typed happens there

I will be returning to the UK in July and will be moving to East London.
I see people have mentioned Stoke Newington and the like already.

Any other places people think are reasonable around that area?
More importantly where should we avoid at all costs?

Places like Islington are out of the price range btw.

Beware north of the river. They all have webbed feet and hands. Theyre weird and always mary their sisters. Go south, preferably south west. Not south east where theyd nick the laces out of your shoes whilst your walking or east end where theyd nick your shoes too. but SW is okay. Actually avoid London. Were all wankers.

Hey Mate..

I go to university in east london.

How long will you be here for?

Stoke Newington isn't the nicest of places. As mentioned earlier, Angel is fab but you say its out of your price range. Have a deeper look into Angel, you might find something you can afford.

East london as a whole, isn't nice really.

erm adding to that it is a quite bad  to live in East London unless you'll be working or going to university here, avoid stratford like the plague, and I would try gumtree aswell.

Ive lived in newham since i was born, moved out about 5-7 years ago but only moved just down the road to redbridge. Its pretty crap just like the rest of east london ;) When you mention costs are you talking about house prices or general living costs? House prices here are getting stupidly high but you if you look well enough you do get your moneys worth. Cheap-ish to live around here.

Holy crap. I'm glad I asked you guys for advice  ;)

I don't care if I'm living close to Holloway Road as I'm taking a Masters' degree and will be working somewhere else after one year. My girlfriend will study at the University of the Arts (Camberwell) for three years, so I'd rather live closer to Elephant & Castle, but that's not suppose to be a great area either  :P

I thought Oslo, Norway was expensive, but it's nothing compared to the prices you have to live with in London, is it?  ;)

Try Surrey Quays / Rotherhithe/ Borough there not that far from Elephant & Castle,
I'm old enough to know better, but young enough not to give a FUCK!!!

There are good-looking cars & then there are Aston Martins

peak travel cards are extortion, get an oyster as soon as you can.

£4 to go Euston to Walthamstow Central anytime of the day is a fucking joke. Luckily it's on work expenses - refuse to use my PAYG Oyster. Far cheaper up here compared to that there Laandan.
Right which bastards eaten me Tapas?

I actually live very close to Acton and it still makes me laugh every time I go through it. Can't say I noticed a disproportionately high number of black people living there though!
