It's absolutely glorious.

There is one club that the entire country is terrified of. One club that puts the shits up everybody else and leaves them shaking. From the self-proclaimed "biggest club in the world"  at Old Trafford right down to tinpot clubs who have never achieved anything of note in their history, they are all trembling at the fact Liverpool are the European Champions, the best team in the UK and might win the league this season.

There is no club anywhere else in the country that can do this. If Abu Dhabi 'win' it everyone knows it's meaningless. But everyone fears Liverpool winning it because that means everything.

It's a silly argument to make really if you are singling out one club when making it. When United were winning everything you could have said the same. Thing is, whoever wins the major trophies are always the best of the bunch at any given time. So if you want to discredit any winners you just put the word 'bad' in front of the word 'bunch' because it makes you feel a bit better.

Amazing really, we've just hammered the best team in the history of football 3-1. We are miles ahead of the 'biggest club in the world"  We are 9 points ahead of the team that has won the title twice on the run with 100 points then 98 points even though we were without the best goalkeeper in the world for the vast majority of the season up to now, yet we are "the best of a bad bunch."

I have to say that so many people are embarrassing themselves at the moment. I just read Gary Gobshite on the Echo website saying that yesterday was "his funeral." He's so obsessed with, and so scared of Liverpool that a game that has nothing to do with the club he played for and supports is "his funeral."
