Jason Roy should be angry with Bairstow, no one else.

The ump is crap mind

Roy would have told Bairstow to review though tbf
And if the rain stops, and everything's dry.. she would cry, just so I could drink tears from her eyes.

That's what happens when you waste reviews on dumb shit.

Australia and umpire should be fined for that. He's heard absolutely fuck all yet given it because of the shout.

Poor decision, but no reviews left, you just gotta get on with it and walk. The upside is they won't be reviewing a plumb lbw in the next game, if we advance.

It's a rough decision, but that's a pretty poor reaction from Roy.

And from Bairstow for wasting the review.

Can we have that rain now just to be safe please.
Roy probably advised him on that to be fair.

Agree with that.

Not sure how many points Roy has disciplinary wise, think he got fined against Pakistan, but he definitely is getting another fine and points for that regardless of how bad a decision that was. Hope he doesn’t miss the final.

Roy has a bit of history with disagreeing with umpires.  Seem to remember him reviewing a decision earlier in the tournament, the decision was upheld and he still found something to argue about.  Silly, he's done his job so get off the ground, today is not about 100s, it's about getting through to the final.

I know it’s not cricket but sympathize with his reaction... biggest match of his life - he’s winning it single handed, just destroying Australia, and he’s given out for no particular reason.

Whats the D-L target?

After over 22, with 2 wickets down it is 78, so we are double that. practically at 153-2.  Even 6 down, the traget would be 148, and we'd win by 5

Ahead of D-L by 79 runs, does that mean they's have a negative target if they went off and had to come back? :o

This World Cup has my brain absolutely scrambled. I know any sport is far from an exact science but the amount of peculiar happenings throughout the tournament has me thinking.

New Zealand chose to bat against India and didn't hit a boundary for 48 balls! Now England look like they're playing a different sport to Australia, never mind look like playing on a different pitch. Weird run chases, collapses, not too many high scores, lack of urgency in key moments. Odd.

One positive thing for the Bairstow wicket, maybe batsman will stop frivolously reviewing everything, as Roy paid the price for that.

Should teams/players not get fined for appealing something that obviously wasn't out but con the umpire into giving it out? I know the final decision lies with the umpire but I'm guessing when a team are appealing as mad as they were then it may play a part in what the final decision is.

England would just win when the target reaches their score without having to come back on.  It just means it wouldn't have to rain for very long.  ;D

They ought to let them go back out and allow them to biff the aussies around for a bit more though.

Genuine question this, with how long it took him to give it out, wouldn't human nature make you think "Give it not out, they'll review if they think it's out and we'll get the right decision in the end"
