Stevie then Kuyt & Adam.

After those three we're pretty short on penalty takers. Never seen Shelvey take one but I reckon he'd be pretty good.

Obviously everyone has watched the Suarez vid from when he was at Ajax.....he used to be their no1 penalty taker and scored a shit load of goals from the spot. Watching it, he was so prolific, it was as if he never missed! Dont really know why he's struggling to score a penalty for us?

Think Stevie should be our number one choice followed by kuyt

Don't know what's gone wrong, I think I'm right in saying he was an exemplary penalty taker before he joined us.

Torres was immense for us and never took the pens. Don't think it really matters.

Let Luis worry about other things, 2 goals in 2 starts since he came back. He is flying!

Reminds me of Torres the few times he took them. Always looks like he wants to take the ball closer to the keeper and round him rather than smashing it into the top corner.

I agree with the general consensus, Gerrard and Kuyt are first choice. Whenever either of them steps up i'm happy. After them, I just want someone who is gonna smash it Riise style, so would be happy with Agger, Carroll, even Enrique in that vein to be honest! Hmmm, maybe there's something in left feet, penalties and smashing it?!

No one would have Bellamy (if he's on the pitch) take one over Dirk or Adam? The way he's played this season and the number of goals he's slotted just inside the posts, I know I wouldn't feel the same trepidation as he steps up as with the other two. Stevie has to take all of them if he's on the pitch though, unless we're a few up and have a player who could do with some confidence (ie what happened today or with AC earlier in the season).

He took one in a pre-season tour penalty shoot out against Portsmouth. And missed.
And his record with Atletico Madrid, where he was the primary taker, was pretty ordinary.

Was Kuyt about to take the pen today? It seemed he pointed to himself when winning it and then it was given to Suarez.
