My thoughts too

If Origi was starting, I would have thought he’d start against Huddersfield too for the minutes in preparation.

Is he back for Barca?

Don't think anyone knows yet.

Obviously a doubt but Klopp seemed confident he'd be fit.

Yes, but if we have Fabinho, Henderson & Gini as our midfield, do we really need more players to do complete defensive tasks? Yes, Shaqiri might have to drop back every now & then and do his share of work, but he'll have Henderson & Trent to help him out on his side. I'd put Shaqiri right and Salah central & play the same way we have been of late & it's not as bad an option as it sounds, if you see what I mean.

The only thing that makes it against this happening is how less Shaqiri has played in the 2nd half of this season, otherwise he looked bright when he came on with Ox yesterday.

The thing that goes against Keita playing (not in midfield instead of one of the three, which would be justified considering his good form, but as the 4th midfielder) would be that, then we'd have too many midfielders doing too many similar things on the pitch. Would that mean enough threat in attack in a game where we need away goals?

How about Keita as the inside left forward, with either Mane Central/Inside right forward or Salah central/inside right forward?

Keita has the tools to play in the front 3 and will offer better defensive capability of required.. Shaqiri probably just shades the attacking capability but his lack of game time is a bit of a problem for me.. Only if the Ox had come back into the side a month ago, this conversation would be moot..

Talk seems to be that he returns to training tomorrow and will have a fitness test then, to determine if he travels with the squad.

If he doesn't make it I'd consider a diamond to be honest, with Salah and Mane up top and Naby in behind.

Main concern for me would be moving Mane and Mo away from the flanks where we're going to, unless Barca change their approach, have acres of space behind their full backs.

It wouldn't surprise me if we went with the diamond anyway, so the wider midfielders can give our FBs some protection and allow one of both of Mo/Mane to cheat.

What happened?
klopp asked about rumours on twitter that bobbys out for season. he literally laughed

The German told BBC Sport: “Wow! I always tell you, don’t believe three per-cent of what is on social media!

“Let’s start with that, I had no argument with Mo Salah. Especially not after the Chelsea game. I have no clue why that should have happened.

“And Roberto Firmino is not out for the rest of the season.

“It’s true yesterday, after training, he fell obviously a little bit, he went to the physiotherapist and they wanted to wait overnight.

“This morning he came and said he still feels it a little bit. It’s kind of a small tear. We will see.

“It’s Bobby Firmino, so I would say it’s likely he’s ready for Barcelona. Of course we don’t know 100 per-cent.

“It’s not too long a time. Like I said, it’s Bobby and he’s a machine. We will see. We will take no risk of course

Massive boost for #LFC with Roberto Firmino able to train at Melwood today. The only player to feature in all 38 European games under Klopp and looks like he’ll be okay for the 39th in the Nou Camp.

Very surprised he only got 15 minutes.

At 1-0 and around the 70 minute mark, I couldn't believe Firmino wasn't on the pitch. I think Klopp was hoping to get the away goal and not have to use him but suddenly we have no away goals and are 2-0 down and 7 minutes later, 3-0 down. He had no choice then.

I don't think he is fully fit. Had we got an away goal at 1-0, I don't think he would have been risked.

Now the question is Newcastle. Do we play him knowing how important he is? Or do we rest him giving him every chance to get 100% fit because we desperately need him for Tuesday?

I would rest him for Newcastle. We should have enough to get the job done.

I didn't think he would make it for the Barca game, but I let myself hope the day before. I suspect Klopp knew since the injury that he wouldn't make it, and was just giving Barca something to think about.

One thing is clear though. Us at our best without Bobby, is nowhere near us at our best with him.
