What's everyone's approach to new signings in the league? I got burnt by Werner at the start of last year (though I quickly rectified it), is everyone confident to go in early on the likes of Daka or Sancho?

Personally not going to touch Daka just yet, Sancho maybe but guessing he will be at least 10.5 million so getting close to the dearest and proven players in game so will probably steer clear to start as well.  My team is bound to change 100 times at least before kick off.

As a rule I think I would have a new player if the price right but maybe it's better to wait and see if they adapt ok first.

I had wener last season for the first game I think then got rid.

I think I did the same with Werner. If Sancho's a 10/10.5m midfield option it's the same as Son in what would presumably be a weakened Spurs, sans Kane, so he'd at least be an alternative to Bruno in the midfield big-hitter options and at least match his goal involvement, I'd imagine. He doesn't have the whole having to settle in thing to deal with, but otherwise I think I'm put off newcomers to the country unless it's literally Messi or Mbappe.

What I did last year with Werner was to make sure I had enough in the kitty for the first few weeks so I could bring him in if he hit the ground running. As it happened, he got a few assists but never enough for me to proceed with the transfer. I think a similar approach with Sancho would be wise, though I reckon Ole's turgid play-for-fouls approach might not be great for his fantasy value.

I had Fernandes in for most of the season last time around and although he was getting points I was sick of the sight of him. So this season I’ve made a pact with my self not to put him in, at all. I always have Salah so I need another high scoring expenny mid instead of him, the penalty’s have to dry up some time. Mane probably or Sterling to start with. Will stay away from Sancho and Daka too until we see how they get on.

Had him one gameweek all season, on a free hit. Think he had pretty mediocre returns the second half of the season though he definitely did me some damage in the first half of the season. Really only room for two big midfield hitters and the points could be made up elsewhere, at least last season with the likes of Raphinha and Grealish and then Lingard late on. Don't think I'll own him much again next season given his price and the other options.

I see they've doubled down on their "everyone plays midfield" approach. Clueless.

It's ridiculous.
A lot of teams don't even have enough strikers to make a squad under FPL rules.

Man City, Man United and Liverpool squads combined have 32 midfielders and 5 strikers.

Hola amigos, just renewed the league.

Hello,

For the 2021/22 Fantasy Premier League why don't you join my mini-league "Red and White Kop"?

Joining the league couldn't be easier. Simply use the link below and you'll be added automatically after you've entered the game.

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/auto-join/tewsqc

League Code: tewsqc

Looking forward to playing against you this season!

And a H2H league: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/auto-join/kvnf01

I recall H2H leagues used to be limited to 20 people but now there's an option for unlimited, I picked that one.

Anyone going for Sancho at 9.5 million.

Was expecting 0.5 or 1 million more to be honest.

Too much of a rotation risk with Greenwood, Rashford, Martial etc. Can see him starting most games but won’t hit the ground running in terms of goals and assists in comparison to Fernandes.

Rashford is supposedly due surgery, Greenwood is a teenager and Martial is a little bit shit. I'd say Sancho absolutely nailed on to be first choice starter in that Man Utd attack.

He’s an easier player to replace around the 65-70 min mark with the number of options available. I prefer to have players who are more or less guaranteed the full 90 to get more value out of them.

Any good cheap strikers people are taking a punt on? Also are people going with Bruno or KDB? Seems you can only have one if you want Salah as well.

I’ve gone with Salah and Mane. Might change but it feels right.  Toney seems quite popular. Not picked him myself, I’ve got Iheanacho, not sure on that though with Vardy and Daka, might see him rotated.

I have around 6.5m and have Pukki at the moment but I'm looking for a better one as well. Thinking if I can squeeze Daka in I might do that. Always love taking risks on new players to the league, even though it hardly ever works out for me (Salah in 2017/2018 aside).

I've gone with Toney, Pukki and ItchyNacho. Arsed spending money on the few players classified as a forward in today's game, I'm going all out on mids and playing 1 forward most weeks.

You could just change it if you dont like it lol

My god I think since it got released a few weeks ago I have had nearly every player in my squad, I'm happy but wish I had a few mill more to upgrade a couple but dont we all.

Main issue I have is having both Trent and Robbo and could change Robbo down to say Digne and put the 1.5 in changing a 6.5 mid up to a 8 well it would be Grealish but dont want him if he goes City to much rotation risk for now, I will see how it goes.
Or go Coufal and get Havertz but their start to the season is crap.

Not entirely sold on Toney but at the price he could be a bargain, and again he is cheaper than the mix of 7.5s to 8.5s and fits my budgeting so unless I drop to say smith rowe and play him every game it ain't happening but I do think he could have a very good season anyway.

Lots going for Brighton keeper ATM and I dont like going more than 4.5 on a keeper so its him or Watfords.

Still no Kane and if he moves it could change alot of what I do.

If you get Kane you can realistically only have one of Mo/Mane/KDB/Fernandes if you want a good balanced team. Tough decisions to be made.
