One of the main open world changes I'd like to see, would be social hubs within the locations, and the open world locations to be bigger as well, imagine being on patrol on Earth or wherever, and having hubs with vendors accessible in those areas, rather than going to orbit and travelling to the Social hubs every time.

You havent got to go into Orbit.

You can also go on adventures
Don't blame me I voted for Jeremy Corbyn!!

There is match making for everything.
I wouldn't be surprised if they tested it on Destiny before 2 releases, on raids and nightfall I mean

Good idea with the adventures and matchmaking for raids.

Looks more refined than the first, like maps and matchmaking for raids should of been in there since Destiny 1.

I was pretty excited before, practically had to change my pants during that release. God damn this looks like it's going to be good.
I remember years ago doing the fart with your fingers pointed like a gun.

I did it to my brother, I had a dressing gown on.

Instead of farting I shat on the floor - my brother thought I was demented.

Looks really promising but I'm undecided until they talk about dedicated servers and single logon.

I was told that D2 uses a new networking system. It's not dedicated but it's not P2P. All that matters to me is that it works WELL, agreed?

30fps and no dedicated servers  :(

Luke Smith "it's just not an investment we've made for D2 [given the] smaller team formats, and matchmaking will be connection-based, rather than skill-based or wins-on-card-based in the case of D1 Trials."

I feel disappointed and let down its only 30fps.  Theres no reason not to target 60fps. Cod, battlefield, halo and overwatch all target 60.  Yeah, the game may play "ok", but its 2017, the hardware and tech available can easily punch out 60.  xbox 360 / ps3 both handled 60 fps without much fuss.  I dont buy this "but its a big game" nonsense that people keep mentioning for it being 30fps.  No dedicated servers either? jesus.  More lag and red bars.  Destiny is / was fantastic, it certainly has its flaws, but the game itself is dam good, especially with friends.  Surely progression is the next natural step?

With that being said, i thought the live presentation was superb, very little chat and tons of game footage.  The game itself looks really well, i cant wait to start fresh again.

I seen they mentioned something regarding 4v4 pvp, am i right in saying that all pvp is going to be 4v4 now? Hope not! 6v6 is a good fit for clash and control.

All in all im looking forward to it, but still im really disappointed and underwhelmed on the decision they made on the servers and 30fps.

Rather than make the gaming experience better for the end users ie the gamers, instead of giving us dedicated servers, theyve decided to reduce the player count to ease the load.  cop out! :(

They say connection based, but the algorithm will also search for inferior connections once the first parameters have not been met, Bungie are always purposely vague when it come to this. The host switching constantly through games is contributing to issues as well.

remember reading the servers that destiny use are 10hz tick rate, so trades are more common

I'm really not arsed about 60FPS.  The beauty of D1 has been the smoothness of the gameplay and gunplay, and as long as that remains unchanged, I'm happy.

If they get that right
If they get the story right
If they get the reward system right
If they get the connections for PvP right

They'll have cracked it, IMO.

30fps is bullshit for multiplayer, its 4vs4 for crying out loud :lmao

i get the story side being 30 as you have quite large area's with different things going on at once

We have gone from Destiny being held back by last gen consoles to Destiny 2 can't run 60fps on current gen. Hopefully it's there and ready to be unlocked on future consoles like Scorpio, but 30fps and no dedicated servers is a real disappointment.

PC looks like the place to be with uncapped frame rate and Battlenet; I hope they are a host for games and not just digital distributor.

Well If what Bungie said is true and fps is a CPU issue then it won't be fixed on scorpio either.

Ha, nice. I wish I knew that also. What I can tell you though - it handled fucking fantastically on PC. No real 60fps footage has seen the light of day of we weren't allowed to capture it, but it's very nice.

How was PvP? I'm not sold on additional roaming supers and abilities (empowering rift, etc).

What did you think to the weapon design in person? One of the biggest things I took from it is I much prefer the style of the current weapons to pretty much everything I've seen in Destiny 2 footage. Not a big thing, necessarily, but part of the feel of the game.

PvP was the part of it I enjoyed least. I am primarily a PvE player but do venture into PvP every once in a while. The main noticeable thing is the longer time to kill BUT I think  that is skewed based on the game type we played. We could only play the new Search & Destroy game type which was made up of rounds - the first 30 seconds of which we didn't have any power ammo so it was primary heavy. A game that is a single round with constantly spawning power ammo crates could be interesting.

Our weapons were limited, no god roll stuff so that will also be a factor. Overall, PvP was good but I didn't immediately gel with it like I did PvE.

What's the early impression of it Matty? Is is an improvement or a glorified re-skin?

It is an improvement. It feels significantly different enough to feel like a sequel whilst retaining enough of D1 for me to have settled in within 10 minutes and adapting the way I normally play. First impressions of PvE have me very, very excited.

Typical that the PS4 beta is on when I'm on my night shifts! Will only get a couple of hours each day to play. Excited for the game but felt E3 trailer was a bit anti climactic. Really enjoyed their own reveal of it a month or so ago.

Just looking at the pre-order options on the MS store...

Base Game - £55
Base Game & Expansion Pass - £80
Digital Deluxe Edition - £90

From what I can tell the difference between the 2nd and 3rd options is...

"The Destiny 2 Premium Digital Content Pack includes a Legendary Sword, Legendary Player Emote, and a Cabal Themed emblem."

Fucking steep for a tenner that like!

They should instead GIVE those who played Destiny 1 the legendary sword, emblem and emote. They know who played the beta from year 1 onwards. These things should be rewards for those fans.

Actually they should give the year 1 Destiny players a whole fucking legendary suit of armor for 1 character, kitted with primary, secondary AND a fecking sword for the amount of cash they have stumped up for this game over the years.

Too many companies are trying to find ways to scam the public over with cheap gimmicky things rather than rewarding those fans with things that are worth paying for. At least CD Projekt Red gave us 2 worthwhile DLC's with The Witcher 3.

I will probably buy Destiny 2 with the expansion pass but I won't give them a tenner for a sword, emblem and emote - not a chance!

I'm on the flip side. After 750 hours in D1, I can't wait to start again.
