Gary Anderson has beaten the PDC lads in the last two tournaments they've met in, including the WDT where he beat Taylor 7-3 in the final and averaged more than 105. Was really, really looking forward to seeing him here at the Grand Slam, because I've heard he's been offered a wildcard to the Premier League if he joins the PDC on the basis of those wins.

But he played crap and lost the to Painter 5-1 and had a 9 per cent checkout average. Maybe something about British audiences? Suicidally short format but I really enjoyed the afternoon on ITV (it was all a bit of a morgue in Bridlington - though ITV need to tighten upv the camerawork and spotting). Barney looked awesome once he woke up. Andy Jenks too. The BDO lads, their top three, Webster, Anderson and Waites, all lost. Is it a crowd thing? Pressure thing? Are they measurably worse players, which I doubt. Or have they been roughed up by Mason in the players lounge? ;)

As I live in the same city, I love to see Manley do well but he doesn't have the cutting edge.

I often see Manley in town... he earns all that money, yet walks around in a lime green proper shirt and Fila trackies :D

Hope Colin Lloyd, Klassen or Wade wins the world title this year, but that is maybe wishful thinking.

Realistically, I'd go for Taylor... think he will be so determined that it will be scary! :)

noun
1 an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment

Now, I'm not saying Darts isn't  sport, it clearly is - but your definition would have to include things like snap and trivial pursuit.

Don't know who's doing the spotting for this ITV darts, but it might as well be Stevie Wonder for the amount of doubles the cameraman's missing. Hope they improve as the week goes on because there's nothing worse than missing the money shots.

What a quality tournament that was. Great idea to join the two together, even though the PDC came out on top in the end.

Colin Lloyd just hit a 9 darter in the players championship in Germany, only to lose the match to Colin Monk.
Tony Eccles missed double 12 for a 9 darter today aswell, also lost to Steve Maish

Anastasia Dobromyslova playing Robert Thornton (former BDO world number one) at the moment in the UK Open at the Reebok. She started well, nearly went 3 - 1 up, now slipping a bit. It's now 2 - 4. First to 6.

The commentators have said that she throws like a man, without explaining what they mean.

Finished: Anastasia Dobromyslova 5 - 6 Robert Thornton

Great comeback from Dobromyslova after losing her way. She qualified in some style, with 5-0 and 5-1 wins (against men).

Yep, she was a bit unlucky there.  Fair play to her though, she stayed in that game well.

2-0 to Priestley in the game that is on now.

Game over.  6-1 to Priestley.

Dennis gave King a good beating.  King got the only 180 but he was never really in the game much.
