--- Quote from: Riquende on September 20, 2023, 03:46:15 pm ---Even as a huge ancient history buff, I didn't hate Rome, but I didn't love it either. If your main attraction for going there is Roman things, then there are better preserved ruins elsewhere - the Empire was quite a big place after all! Maybe the other bits aren't as famous, but they're less touristy and maybe cheaper to visit.

Just thought Rome was more interesting on the whole.

Thank you very much, bryanod, Riquende, Jookie, redgriffin73, gazzam1963.
I really really appreciate all of your inputs and those help me a lot in making a decision.
Okay, will save my money for Rome then, maybe next 2-3 years would be Amsterdam.

Joking aside, that does look pretty good, and only a couple of hundred quid difference between them all anyway.

hahaha yea it wasnt the cheapest but not much more than the others that were available but did look better. I was gonna go to Dubai but flights were expensive plus didnt get away in the summer for a couple of reasons so its the main one for the year.

I'm booking the same resort as you this week. It looks ideal.
We had a week in Majorca end of May, but the weather was hit-and-miss. I feel cheated so flexing the arl credit card for this. Fuck it :)

Dubai is off our radar now - stayed in the JA Palm resort in 2019, cost about £4800 for the four of us, should have gone back in 2021, was £4200 for 8 nights, its around £11,000 now for 7 nights - fuck that right off.
