I second that. Strong and powerful and great distribution. So sad to see he couldn't get a winners medal yesterday. He deserved one.

The focus now should not be on who the owners are, but limits on what owners can do without formal supporter agreement. At all clubs.

What a signing he's been, next 10 years we'll be seeing him in the red shirt and more CL finals.

Nice first season for him.

Couple of winners medels, settling in really quickly at a top team and a couple near misses that hopefully will spur him on to go a step further in those comps next season.

Our best signing this season.

He was superb last night. Strong in the tackle, pace to burn, good in the air, nice crisp passing and some surging runs from deep. He’s the complete package and still miles off his full potential.
Roger Scruton was right about everything.

Just remembered that tackle he made with about 20 minutes to go. Fucking hell, incredible that. For some reason it reminded me of that insane block Robbo made near the end of the 2018 final. Sickener that he's only lost that one game all season but what a debut season for him.

We should extend his contract now. He is incredible for his age. Just turned 23 and is already one of the best around, Hes about 5/6 years away from the normal prime age for a centre back.

I hope he keeps his head down and doesn't get involved in it.

We should extend his contract now. He is incredible for his age. Just turned 23 and is already one of the best around, Hes about 5/6 years away from the normal prime age for a centre back.

Presuming when he signed he agreed a five year contract (I'm not sure he did but most top players seem to do so these days upon joining a new club) then I think it'd be best waiting another year. After Salah had been here a year he signed again with an extra year on top of his deal, but if we had held out another year and then got him to sign, we'd have an extra year on top of what we do now, and that would have been right after winning the European Cup as well. I suppose you can't predict the future though and nobody was against extending his deal after his amazing first season.

Nowadays I don't think you really want your top players going down to the final two years of their deals. That was when I started getting concerned with Gini, and the same thing has happened with Salah, Mane too I suppose. Anyway, those are all players at different stages of their careers, Konate's only just turned 23 and hopefully we can find a way to keep him here for the best years of his career because if he carries on like this under Klopp and beyond he could be one of the best central defenders of his day.

Finally. I think he firmly established himself as our best option next to Virgil by the end of last season.

We talked a lot about our injuries, specifically in midfield, but missing Ibou and Jota has been huge for us.

For sure. But Matip really is a key CB for us as well with his ability to break the lines and dribble.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
