AB LFC:
Has anyone here got it done or know anyone who has?

Was just driving around yesterday and could hardly read the road signs like I used to be able to. Kept rubbing my eyes thinking maybe it's a bit of dust in my eye but was still the same. Was just on the laptop a few minutes ago when I closed my left eye just randomly and noticed that my right eye was significantly worse than my left. Right eye is very very blurry and it really is scary, really don't want to run the risk of going blind in one eye.

So now giving serious thought to LASIK/LASEK surgery but shit scared of the procudure. But it's my only option. Even as I type this, my right eye is hurting like mad. So anyone maybe shed some light on this? Would be greatly appreciated  :wave

If this has come on suddenly, and your eye is hurting, then get to the doctors, probably nothing but it needs to be checked out.

I'm not a doctor. But if you've lost some vision suddenly and your eye hurts -- and you're not imagining it because you're worried -- get to a doctor in the next day or so. It could be anything, from something harmless to a detached retina. Take it seriously. Better to be safe than sorry. If it's nothing, the doctor's reassurance will stop your anxiety.

For example, I see "floaters", which are pretty common and harmless. But I was just reading the other day that if the amount of them increase suddenly it could be the detachment of a retina.

Go and see an optometrist, pronto. You may have a minor infection that requires action before it gets worse.

I had LASIK 10 years ago to treat astigmatism and to be honest it was amazing. Unfortunately, age is impacting my night reading vision so glasses at some stage will be required.

S.Red please:
When I close my left eye and look out of just my right everything is really blurry, been like this for as long as I can remember. Been to an opticians but truth be told I really can't remember what they said now. I was given glasses I should wear when I am reading or on the laptop but stupidly enough I hardly ever wear them. If you feel pain though or its just come on suddenly get it checked out. Better safe than sorry!
