Met him in Istanbul the day before the game. A sound man who didn't mind talkin' us and takin' photies. Did refuse our offer of a bevvy though, lightweight!

i met him in 95 . i was on one of those 'red letter' days where you get to do the stadium tour, go to melwood , meet all the players, then have a game of 5 a side with AK and a couple of ex pro's , then you get a 4 course meal in the players lounge and have a Q and A session with AK .
he is a really, really top fella. he even gave me a lift back to the moat house.
he was telling us about his winning penalty in the european cup final, he said he ran up and aimed it high and right, but because he is so 'shit' it went low and left and the rest is history !

Infact looking back he was only ment to be there for an hour and a half but stayed the best part of 3 and a half. It was a night signing and loads turned up. He chatted to people on the level and wasn't rushing people either. After everyone was signed, he continued to talk to people who's hung around to talk to him more and after them the staff. He was hoping to do the Legends show live from Borders but there were issues between the two companies.

I know that his current profession is radio work and he's used to working with the public but his attitude was spot on, forget signing and shifting books he was genuinely interested in talking to everyone he met. I explained to him that there was only one legend on that show. Then he signed the book for my old man, which went down a right treat at Christmas.

Poor old Roy Evans though barely anyone turned up to get his signed. I thought he deserved better than that. Aparently there was something else going on in the City at the time which explained the lack of customers. Thommo is having his book day down there soon for anyone who fancies a nose.

Met Alan loads of times and he's usually first in the queue for a drink! Maybe he had a rehearsal for tv or something.... Gotta be some reason!
