It's the inconsistency that gets me. I don't mind Varane being 94. But if they're going to give him a rise when he's been pants since the summer, why drop Diego Costa for having a slow start to the season? He's been one of the best strikers in the world for years now and is still starting every week for one of the best teams in the world. Give him until the end of the season and if he's still not doing well, drop him then. Same with Douglas Costa who was Juve's best player last season, but has been unlucky this season with Juve changing formation to accommodate Ronaldo. It's so demotivating trying to build your squad up only to get shafted time and time again.

Yeah, I get the overall point. The ratings have always been a bit of a mess. You've definitely got the short end of the stick in these reviews. All of those drops could be seen as unfair, but the Di Maria one sticks out to me. He's been dropped two times now while actually playing well and being productive. I actually do feel for you, especially since you've been one of the few managers I think whose been willing to take some these older players on and tried to build something competitive, and now you're being punished for it.

But annual rating changes are supposed to be based on the form between the last ratings review and the current review which are done end of and the middle of a season so they're supposed to be on the current season

That's never been the case though I think. If it was players like Mbappe should be 95+ already. I think age factors in to it so the trajectory of a player and his ratings can be estimated better which helps with trading. That's why they usually only bump players +1 or -1 after they get to the 90+ range. So Varane is now rewarded for his play over the last couple of years. That's how I've seen the system anyways.

What they're supposed to be and what they are two different things though. If the ratings were consistent then players would rise or fall every annual review but they're not consistent. They changed the review system because it was too much effort doing it on current form like before and doing it twice a year for them was much easier, and ever since then the game has suffered. If the system was like how you see it, form over a few years, then the likes of Costa shouldn't drop.

Who did you give for Varane Alex? At the time it was like pulling teeth trying to get that deal over the line but i told you he was worth building your defence around in the future and you went over the top eventually. Reap the benefits.
I gave Busquets and Lucas Hernandez to get him in so you went further than that. Those were the days. Different world back then

It was four of my youth players, all rated 90 or so I think. Werner, Weigl and two others I can't recall. Maybe Tolisso was one? It felt like a huge price at the time, Varane was still rated 92, but you were definitely right then that I wouldn't regret the deal.

Was a bit of a no brainer really no matter how steep the price. A young player who was essential to the future of one of Europes consistently top teams. Get it done. Looking at his transfer record it was Weigl who was 91 at the time, and Werner who was 90 but was always gonna rise soon after so basically 91. Tolisso yeah i think so. He would have been 90 aswell but was also due a rise so basically 91 too. But here we are over a year down the road and no change for any of them since, and Varane...Jackpot.

If one or more of those players reach 94 by the same age as Varane then it's great deal the other way, just requires a lot of patience and some luck.

Looks like they're done with Spain. They'll probably drop De Gea now just to finish the job.

Hi all.

Recently I've been really struggling to keep up with this game, forgetting or just not bothering to change my teams in cup games, keeping on top of transfers etc.. I just don't have the time anymore. So, I'm not going to make anymore transfers on ether GW this season, and will quit both Sporting and PSG at the end of their respective seasons.

Cheers for letting me join in, it's been fun.

PS.. Hope you all had a wicked Christmas!

Seen Zaha gets a 90. Sums up the actual state of this game. And yes i'm gonna bang on about Haller again. Both were 89 and now only one is 90, and Haller has scored and assisted more goals in this season alone than Zaha has done for the whole calendar year of 2018! An absolute state and makes you wonder why bother your arse with a rebuild

Still half a season to go. Hopefully you change your mind, most normally do :D

If not, i'd like to see a draft at PSG. Give the lower rated teams a decent chance at getting some actual worthful talent in

Sorry to hear that mate. You were a great addition to both this gameworld and the other one. I especially enjoyed duelling it out against your Sporting side for the title in Sleeping Giants, although we didn't seem to get the better of you very often!

I'm alright with doing the deal as agreed even if Chris leaves. It was agreed for the good of the world anyways, not so much for me and Chris since we were happy with the original deal. Ronaldo can be part of the PSG draft/free-for-all if Chris decides to leave at the end of the season. If there's a draft I can sell him to whoever picks him straight from Bayern to avoid the transfer ban.
