Brought back players that were obviously not match fit. Salah and Slobo, plus persevering with Nunez up top. Not sure why 6 changes were needed after Fulham.

Jota and Gakpo were enforced. So then who else are you bringing back. Konate for Quansah made sense but Ibou obviously had a mate.

Maybe didn’t need to change the entire midfield but think we were trying to freshen up.

Isn't he homesick or something, I think I read about it a few months ago.

You’d hope 1 or 2 of Quansah, Elliott and Bradley have a chance of still being at club in 5 years time. Selecting any of the other young players (Bajcetic, Clark, Danns, Doak etc) to be here in 5 years would be a massive punt of a guess. The likelihood at this point is that if 1 of them is here in 5 years then it’ll be a result.

From 2019/20, there about 11 players who are still part of the squad currently (including 3 GKs). That feels like the absolute maximum you’d expect to see over a 5 year period. City and Arsenal have about 7 or 8 players from 2019/20 still in their current squads - though a number of those players aren’t key players (e.g. Elneny).

I think the smart choices would be Trent, MacAllister, Elliott, Jones and Bradley/Quansah but I’ve have literally no confidence in that prediction.

I meant that Ukraine managed to breach the porous Russian air defense on several occasions. They didn't have long range missions to hit the bridge, but the hole in the sky was open. Now they have long range (300 km) ATACMS, now the bridge can likely be brought down.

They're able to breach air defences around Crimea through a combination of overwhelming the defences with drones, using drones/decoys to reveal and then destroy radars/launchers, and spreading drones across a wide area to look for areas lacking in coverage. However, the closer you get to the Kerch bridge the denser anti-air is likely to be, so the above strategies only get you so far. You also potentially have to hit a single support multiple times to have an impact and ATACMS are only accurate up to about 10 metres, so they'd really have to launch a lot of them to stand a chance of taking the bridge out long term.

There are a few potentially big benefits to ATACMS that I'm aware of. The first is that stockpiles all the way up to the coast should be in range for Ukraine, meaning they could go back to destroying equipment before it reaches the front. Another is that there are cluster variations of ATACMS, which can be (and have been) dropped on Russian airfields to take aircraft out for the foreseeable future. I think they also carry a bigger payload than Storm Shadows, which makes them better at blowing up unfortified buildings and storage areas, but I'm not 100% on that.

Hopefully they arrive in large quantities, that's probably been the biggest issue with Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles, the numbers are limited.

If Arne Slot is our next manager, he’ll have a very exciting DM to work with and develop in Bajcetic. Having him fit and available for pre-season would be huge, he has the talent to become a very important player for us going forward.

Yeah but who the fuck knows … he’s missed over 12 months of football at a critical age
He could still be anything but you can’t plan round him being a first xi player next season

Top 4 isn't secure yet there's plenty to lose

This is nonsense.

He's a good young player, a really exciting prospect but no one knows whether he's going to developed and make it at the club in the long term. The way some people go on about him you'd think he was a Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen or Wayne Rooney and he's not, he's scored 2 senior goals against a Championship side and has a 1 in 2 record at U23 level which very rarely transfers over to a 1 in 2 record in the Premier League.

This is probably his level at the moment, he needs time to develop in an environment that isn't pressurised right now in a team that seems to be completely running out of steam.
Why isn't top 4 secure?

We're 14 points ahead of Spurs who have 18 points to play for. It's done.

If his teammates fluff easy chances then he shouldn't be blamed for not having assists.

Is that happening right now though, or all season? Is there recency bias at play here?

It is hard to remember but there was long stretches of time this year where our attack was purring, but he wasn't assisting.

There's obvious reasons behind it but there was a period between October and mid January where people were very much questioning how good he was, talk that we need a better left sided attacker.

He is great now but let's not pretend this is the player we have had all season, nor that he is a contributing factor this attack both good and bad

as he has lost some pace/dynamism with age, he was also forced to play wider to accommodate Nunez. i still think he'll be a top-class forward if we had centred our game around him. he shouldn't be played as a touchline winger.

i also think this current round of criticism is somewhat unfair. he came back from an extended injury (in Salah's terms) and was expected to instantly perform in a title challenge whilst the majority of the rest of the team also have been crap. his numbers would've looked more passable if we could finish chances - i don't think that's an age thing it's just a lack of confidence/form.

What commuters are paying in the UK is a bad joke, especially when you consider the quality of service people are getting.

Wouldn't mind paying what we're paying at the moment if the money actually went back into improving the railways rather than into an executives pocket!
