So Newcastle have turned down a £25m bid from Spuds for this fella and say they'll refuse to sell in this transfer window.  Mirroring our stance on Torres.

Nothing about this window, just said he isn't for sale.

That figure is staggering. I can't believe Spurs offered 25 million for ANDY CARROLL. And even worse, that Newcastle rejected it!?? He's a decent player, but worth probably 15 million max.

The mind boggles.

Tell me about it. And apparently Newcastle said 25 million was a derisory offer too!! I'd feel guilty paying more than 10 million for the bloke! Yes hes done well this season, but at the end of the day he's just an awquard lump! I'd be gutted if we forked out that kinda money for him.

Exactly how many forwards do you need?

Seems like your manager has a blind spot for forwards

I think that's harsh.  He's looked mobile and quick-footed to me this season.  Sure, the money being bandied about is ridiculous but he really is a good player.

We need a forward that can bloody score goals. Crouch has scored 1. Defoe has scored 0. Pav has scored 4 or 5 and Keane has 0 too. I'd happily replace the lot of them

Newcastle want to keep him. Therefore of course it will take a ridiculous offer - why wouldn't it? If they want to charge more then that for a player who hasn't shown he wants to leave then they can damn well do it. Weather a club chooses to pay it is another matter.
You could open a door with him, he's such a knob.

Their strikers are shit.

Its probably the only thing stopping them from mounting a serious title challenge.

Think they need a decent defensive midfielder, and a decent centre-back myself.

Not ridiculous enough to sell. Selling our only decent striker would cost us how much in terms of relegation?

Maybe at this point in the transfer window, you might turn it down. But say that offer was made two weeks ago, you'd be mad not to take it. He is definitely replaceable.

I do really rate Andy Carroll but he is not worth anywhere near that money. We just bought Suarez for less than that!

Suarez might have cost less, but someone like him wouldn't want to come to us. Balancing act bewteen ahving 25m to spend on a layer, and having goalscorers who ant to play fr you. What's the point having the money if the only players we can attract are shite?

If we really are selling Torres for 50 mill, it's hard to envisage a better centre forward we could get then Carrol. And apparently, our bid has just been rejected too. Dear lord.

Better than giving it to RBS.
