I would have thought Hilbre Island (tide permitting) would be ideal, though I suppose you would need to get the dog on a leash on the island itself.

My father-in-law walks down the gun site in New Brighton every day with his dog. Should be quiet at that time.

Type Cubbins Green into the Sat Nav. Just underneath West Kirkby. Watched a sunset there last weekend and it was glorious.

I have lived on the Wirral most of my life - never heard of it before.  So thanks for that - going to check it out next week.

It's a lovely spot that, popular with doggers though.

If you want to miss out the meadow bit and go straight to the beach ignore the first car park and carry on down the road to the right and it'll take you to the parking area right on the beach front.

Park at the bottom of Langdale in West Kirby. There is a cut through to the beach. Walk to the right along the dunes at the back of the golf course towards Hoylake lighthouse and Red Rocks and turn back on yourself and then walk back along the beach. Beautiful hour long walk with views of Hilbre, the Dee and North Wales all the way along.
