I love it but be warned, it lasts for a very, very short time.

Are you you using the Eau De Toilette or Parfum?

I use Eau de Toilette. Is Parfum usually the same scent just stronger?

To be honest I know very little about fragrances in general.

Yeah is goes up in strength and longevity (and price) - Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum then Parfum.

Might be worth trying the Parfum in future mate to hold those Calabrian Bergamot top notes for even longer :)

It's worth seeking out the Extreme versions, usually around £60-70 for the Toilette, but the fragrance does last a lot longer...

Scent #2 from Zara smells like dior sauvage. Some smell like various Boss aftershaves and there is a similar creed in zara but can't remember the name.

I wouldn't bother with fake ones but there are good clones out there. Mont Blanc - Explorer is a good Aventus clone.

You can also go down the fragrance splits route if you don't mind not having an original bottle. You can get expensive fragrances for a fraction of the price that way.

Any reputable sites you've used mate?

Vibrant leather. About£12 instead of £150 ... but much weaker I guess. Still, quite good and a compliment winner.

My faves? Viktor and Rolf Spice Bomb and Marc Jacobs...

Being a teenager in the 80's and going out in the 90's - the aftershave that had girls asking more than any other was - Cacharel Pour L'homme Eau de Toilette

However they stopped making it for years and the new one, based off the original scent is a lot weaker, apparently. However will be ordering it to try and relive some of my youth. Unfortunately everything else is fucked, glad i'm married :)

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

I'm a Tom Ford fanatic.  Going to stock up on 'Black Orchid' and my very favourite 'Ombré Leather' when I go on holiday in a few weeks

Will give the 'Vetiver' a little smell test in the airport.

Creed Aventus is far and away my favourite but all the 'cheaper' ones come with a price.  They might smell similar but the rash and terrible itching they produce make them not worth considering.

All the Tom Ford ones last a long time but they're very strong.  The reason I bought a Tom Ford was the assistant in the Harvey Nicks in Liverpool told me that it was a big favourite of lots of Liverpool players (she hadn't ascertained who my team was BTW) particularly Daniel Sturridge so I got a bottle of Nerolo Portofino on that basis.  It will probably see me out though I use it so infrequently.

There was a lad dancing in front of us to the indie band 'The Lovely Eggs' and there was a very strong but pleasant aftershave wafting off him.  I had to ask what it was and was surprised when he told me it was CK One!
It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.

Issey Miyake - Pour Homme.

Trouble is, I think the smell fades too quickly.

My girl likes it though.

The issue everyone has is....you get used to the smell so you don't notice it as much. If you rotate them, you tend to notice them for longer :)

I wear Issey all the time and still get complemented on it. Love how it's fresh and spicy ;D

That's interesting - didn't know that  :)
I remember the term 'nose-blind' so just looked it up after reading this thread.

''Nose-blindness, or sensory adaptation, is a real thing and there is a reason why it exists. If the brain decides a smell is not a threat [after repeated exposure to it] you don't need to waste any more energy on it, and your nose's odour receptors switch off to it.''

Anyway, I've always liked Fahrenheit.
