Still wouldn't be surprised if Brighton sneak in and get it. Feel like they're the only team you can actually correctly predict results for.

Yes we very well will fuck it up but rather we at least get the chance than just watch teams fly miles past us.

My belief in us getting top four has yo-yo’ed up and down like our form. At the moment I dont think we will make it and that Bournemouth game will be the one where all belief was lost.

Our next three games are vital because as much as we can say we can go on a run after it, are we really capable of that this season? Our only hope is that week either we have an amazing week of results (2 wins or more) or both Newcastle or Spurs dont take advantage.

Klopp has called it our decisive week and I think thats exactly what it will be. If we leave it with a similar and not worse points gap than at the moment then I think we can do it. I feel we may be well behind at that point.

Even though we have City, Newcastle is away to United and Spurs at Everton….so we may not lose ground even if we don’t win.

Think we blew it against Bournemouth last week with a performance that was as bad as it gets. Ciry, Arsenal, United, Newcastle for top 4.

They'll go ahead of the Mancs if they beat them at home next game.. Fathead is suspended which makes it a close encounter.  My money is on a draw though. I thought top four was a shootout between us and the Saudis but Conte looking for the sack could rejuvenate Spurs .
Personally I think if we'll get it if we take 5 or more points from our next three games. Not a small "if" granted.

Most consistent at what?
They've won 2 of their last 5 games, needing the most stupid defending all season to win the game v Forest.
Their last 10 games has been WWLLDDDWDD

Last 5 games they are 12th in the form table.
Last 10 games they're 10th.

What are they the most consistent at?

Lost to Fulham, drew with Leeds and Crystal Palace in their last 5.

Nobody has any consistency. Two games back the Saudis were written off, then two narrow wins against poor teams and they're the ones to beat. It was just finish ahead of Spurs before that. Now they've had a blip.
At the same time the Mancs had third nailed down with an outside chance of the title. Two bad results later and third is out of their hands and top 4 isn't necessarily a sure thing.

Even if we lose away to Abu Dhabi fourth is still on. Winning a couple of games always puts you back in the hunt. We've moved from mid table and closed the gap on fourth despite our inconsistencies.  Not being a superfan but I  can't understand giving up at this point.

We need a run of 5 games like we had prior to Bournemouth. More importantly, we need to get out the other side of the Arsenal game no further back than we are now or it becomes a monumental task with only 9 games remaining.

Just to show how important the City game and this week is, we are on 42 points with 12 games left. To get to 68 points (which you imagine we may need), if we fail to win this coming week, 9 wins out of the remaining 9 games gives us 27 points.

Basically we need to win at least one game this week because there is no way we are winning the remaining 9 out of 9.

It's not even the points at this point. We'd also have to jump over 3 other teams. The odds are way worse than the 20/21 comeback and it's basically over now.

It's a long way from over for us if we can sort ourselves out.

Saudi and/or Spurs will drop points on Sunday. Ideally a Spurs win, then red Mancs beat Spurs next week, we beat them the week after.
Saudi lose to Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea on the last day.
We win our remaining games.

Easy as fuck when you put it like that  :D

Hadn’t realised we only have 3 away games left. West Ham, Leicester, Southampton. First two potentially tricky given what they have to play for, but no horror looking ones there.

5 home games left and out home form is still strong. Villa will give us problems with how they play, and Spurs is always niggly but would expect us to see off Forest, Brentford and Fulham, with the latter two not having much to play for.

We could win them all but it’s still difficult to make a strong case for doing so. Important we beat Villa and Spurs as they’re the only ones we can influence in a battle to get as high as we can. I can see us having a decent run to the end of the season and getting up to 6th, possibly 5th. If we win them all then there’s a chance of catching Newcastle but really need them to drop points in a couple of games sooner rather than later to really build on their defeat to Villa.

We still have a chance. It's a nice bit like rounding the last corner seeing two runners ahead starting to go over the last hurdle. They might both fall, knock themselves senseless and we can clear the the two remaining hurdles with ease 😉

So Newcastle can only win 2/3 more games....

And they've just won like 7 of 9 (insert star trek joke)

Not looking likely...
United similarly would have to be exceptionally poor but their recent form isn't as good.

I give us a 10-15% chance of top 4

Got to win all our games and get to 71 points to put any pressure on United and Newcastle.

After last night's games:

Newcastle need 10 points from 6 games to exceed 71 points

Southampton (h), Arsenal (h), Leeds (A), Brighton (h), Leicester (H), Chelsea (A)

United need 12 points from 7 games to exceed 71 points

Villa (H), Brighton (A), WHU (A), Wolves (H), Bournemouth (A), Chelsea (H), Fulham (H)

I think it's hard to envisage Newcastle taking less than 10 points from their remaining fixtures. 4 home gamed and 2 winnable away games.

We could potentially catch United but they'd need to drop points in at least 4 games out of 7. Think Villa home and Brighton away are key. If they navigate those games they will have 1 foot in the CL.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

We can only win our games and keep applying pressure. Think it's too little too late but we should at least be aiming to get into Europa.
