With the likes of Brighton, Fulham, Brentford and Newcastle taking points from all-comers, there is no reason we cant sneak back into top 4 contention.

If (and its a big if) we can put a 4 or 5 game streak together, then we are right in amongst it.

Newcastle are wobbling of late, so putting pressure on them before their big final is crucial.  None of their players will want to miss that game so hopefully that means they aren't 'as' committed to those 50/50's.

Saying that, i still reckon the league is a possibility until its not...... :)

like with the game last night, the narrative will be that Newcastle are likely favourites - albeit with more merit than the boos, but we should use that to our advantage if we can

All the more reason for them to lose a second one! They've drawn too many lately, one win in six I think. I reckon we'll beat these, they are nothing special, we are.

Mad that a team with more draws than wins is in the top four at this stage of the season. The door is open, but we've got a lot of ground to make up. Not going to get my hopes up until we get a couple of away wins.

Man City
Arsenal
Man Utd
Liverpool

We are going to need to put a run together to finish top four, and so far this season we have not shown an ability to do that. But now that we are getting a few players back you never know! The signs were much better against Everton.

Hopefully we build on that and beat Newcastle. I think it will be tight as they don’t give too much away.

It's why I'm still pretty relaxed,we have more than enough to be able to put a long run together and the results of being able to train with an almost full squad cannot be underestimated.

5th next year should get CL, if the english clubs keep performing in europe as they have done in recent seasons.

If Westham does the job, this will be a very good weekend.

Next weekend Spurs are playing vs Chelsea and Newcastle is at City. We can quickly get within reaching distance.

Newcastle don’t have a league game next week, surely. Either way, a chance to put some pressure on.

This week has certainly changed things, I gave us no chance, still not totally convinced but there's defo much more encouraging signs. Not really arsed about what the others do, they are all shit and will all drop loads of points, was always about if we can find something and getting winning again.

12 wins from 16 would absolutely nail it. Hopefully requires less but always wanna get in the 70s ideally.

State ownership allows you to spunk £50million on 4th choice fullbacks that gives you that strength in depth to see out league campaigns bit in cup competitions it's still just 11v11.

Think the matches against teams around us are huge too.

Spurs and Fulham are both at home. Arsenal and United too.

Played Brighton, Brentford and Newcastle twice.

If we can pick up six from next two then it’s on.

I don’t think Brighton, Brentford or Fulham believe themselves they can make top 4 and will be content to stay round about where they are. Realistically it’s us, Spurs and Newcastle for one spot. Spurs don’t seem great but win more than you’d think. Newcastle don’t seem great but don’t seem to lose to anyone bar us. They’re having a sticky patch though and we can definitely capitalise.

Still don’t fully trust us to extend this run to 4 or 5 wins in the bounce to really get back in it but there are definitely promising signs there. We have a decent chance and I didn’t think I’d be saying that, even a week ago.

Top 4 odds:

(Man City 1/200)
(Arsenal 1/150)
(Man United 1/8)
Liverpool 5/4
Newcastle 11/8
Spurs 9/4

We were 4/1 this time last week.

We play twice before Newcastle next play. And their next match is Man City away. Win our next three and things will look incredibly rosy all things considered.
