To complete the trilogy we are now going to draft 11 players from 11 nations. However the following nations can not be picked from:

Brazil
Argentina
England
France
Spain
Netherlands
Germany
Italy

The rest of your team must be made up of 11 different nations, 1 player from each. So for example, once you have picked a player from Zimbabwe, you can't choose another. Other drafters nations don't affect yours, meaning you can all pick a player from Chad if you want to.

Use the modern day countries as a base. Players that have played for one of the countries above as well as another aren't eligible (you can send me an appeal via PM if you find one and feel it should be worthy)

Can we chuck in maybe a two hour time limit for the first pick dropping to one hour after the first round? Last couple have taken about three days to get the first round of picks done!

I tend to only get on RAWK once or twice a day for a quick look over the weekend, so will likely be Monday now anyway.

Good idea, but I'd say definitely fair to start from Monday in that case. And I'll have to PM everyone when we are close to starting.

With Yugoslavia I'd say include them as a separate country (so you can pick a Yugoslavian and a Croatian for example) but if there's any crossover with players playing for both you count their highest appearance (so Boban and Prosinecki would count as Croatian).

The breakup of Yugoslavia commenced a month before I was born, so I fail to recognise it in history.

Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore though, so if a player was partially playing for them you count where in the Yugoslav Federation he was born.

Otherwise, most of them are quite obvious. Yugoslavia between the war and 2002 was basically Serbia with a Montenegrin player or two.

My suggestion is that we either have a minimum of three continents picked or a ceiling of seven European players if that's reasonable

I'd say so, if its an all-time draft you can't just bump off a team like that.

Doesn't make sense to make it any more complex than that, I doubt anyone's arsed researching where Yugoslavian players were actually born. Quick google, onto wikipedia, they played more games for Yugoslavia then they're Yugoslavian for the purposes of the draft and if they played more for another country then there you go. 11 from 11 is the idea, doesn't make sense to start putting in continent limits etc.

Agree with this. We've always treated Yugoslavia as a separate entity in previous drafts.

Not arsed, Elz. Leave it to the Yugo aficianado's. Couple of the drafters like to pontificate abah that golden era. Whatever they decide or just fuck Yugoslavia off out of it. Don't wanna upset them, they might not vote for me...

I think Puskas is alright, maybe make it most appearances count if they’ve played for multiple countries

Puskás would definitely be selectable by my reckoning since he played a lot more times for Hungary than another nation.

Yeah not bad. I think we have an outside chance. Think we can compete with Croatia and Morocco. The team is a lot better than our seeding suggests
