Nick’s side with far more balance for me.

Tubby’s got a great midfield but it’s a narrow side and I don’t like how exposed the CBs would be if Alba was constantly pushing on. I’ve also never particularly rated Carvajal.

I don’t adore Nick’s midfield but it’s functional and everyone has a clear cut role - Benzema is also a sensational foil for the players around him. Great defence too.

Not the easiest to call because Tubby’s midfield is great but I question the attack and defence. Petit was decent but sticks out like a sore thumb relative to the others.

How about 4 of Continents? Europe, Africa, South/North America and Asia/Oceania but none of the countries we've had so far (Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Holland, England)?

How many players can you think of worth picking from Asia? I've got about 3 

Might be better to split Europe in two - Eastern Europe and then everyone else (Portugal, Belgium, Ireland, Wales, Scotland etc). Maybe put Africa, Asia, and Oceania together.

Rest of Europe is probably still way too easy though.

I'd want a Rest of the World draft with 11 different countries instead. Makes a lot more sense after these ones. Otherwise it's just a re-hash of a lot of the same players again.

Thinking out loud so it will be a terrible idea. What if everyone was allocated 11 countries at random (or could so some kind of sorting out in advance to make it slightly fairer), and you all had to pick your teams with 11 players from 11 countries.

There’s around 200 countries in the world so there would be enough to go around.

Think I might have been playing too much Worldle and Globle but if you need any help selecting a goalkeeper from Vanuatu, I’m your man.

As for Nick, I think it's only potentially doable if multiple people get the same countries. It'd be a complicated mess to set up though.

Not to piss on anyone else's ideas but I was thinking about this the other day, sad bastard that I am and thought:

- Rest of South America
- Africa
- Scandinavia (could be rest of Europe?)
- Rest of the UK & Republic of Ireland

This could work on almost king of pick your team basis. Anyone seen them things "You have 50 mill, pick your 5 a side team" then you get a set of players that cost 20 mill, a set that cost 10mill etc. Do it like that.

The top tier teams at a certain amount, then you have to balance it out. So if you try go Italy, Brazil, Netherlands, you might have to pick Comoros.
