Scouting in Corby, or scouting in Copacobana. Tough choice there.

Scouting players who we'll then continue to track when they move to Europe? It seems impossible for us to sign players directly from Brazil, can never seem to get them clearance to play.

We get Benfica or Porto to buy them, naturalise them with EU citizenship and ensure they have a favourable release clause that we can activate. Winner!

Brexit means he'd have to be classed as an "Exceptional talent" and had to have been capped by Brazil by now to be proven of that status.

Would be nice to see some South Americans come in on the cheap under Mr Ward but I flat out refuse to believe that that story is true, as Tepid pointed out on the last page they basically never are.

Speaking of this, I only found out recently that the lad we had a few years ago, Allan, the centre mid, was a big part of the side that won the league and cup double in Brazil last season. Good to see him settle down in his home country and achieve something like that. He was one we could never get clearance for IIRC.

I dont know what you mean by moving the goalposts.
No doubt he is paid very well but its not as simple as saying he earned close to 400k per week especially with many variables involved. Forbes or not the truth is nobody knows. This is like Mane salary discussion all over again when people made wrong assumptions based on wrong numbers from the media.

Not entirely sure what the point is. You can't take anyone's reported salary as gospel. Salah could be earning 400k basic for all we know

We aren't signing another forward this season so there isn't a need to talk to him. We are well covered up front imo.  If we're to make another signing it'll be a midfielder imo.

They love signing Bundesliga players on a free with the gleeful announcement during the season he's going to Bayern, such a vile club.

Sadio is going there to be the star of the team, after the departure of Lewandowski. Gnabry probably thought he will be that star, and has rejected a very good offer from Bayern of €380,000 per week. He has Real Madrid written all over him, so we shouldn't waste our time discussing him in this thread ...

Looks like Sevilla want him back and Valencia tentatively linked.

He’d be fine in Spain for the most part, the quality outside of the top 5 or 6 clubs is pretty poor.
