Well, considering that Gnabry has already rejected €380,000 per week from Bayern, we better pay Salah what he wants, since Gnabry is nowhere near his level ...

All that confirms is that we wont get Gnabry either as well as the fact that Salah will leave.

We wont sign anyone near Salah’s level. There isnt a player out there as good. Not one we could get anyway.

Still pretty raw (than again, he is still 19), but great talent. I'd really love to see him developing under Klopp ...

He looks good. Can see him playing as Deep Lying midfielder or as a #8. Maybe a #10 if he develops his attacking game more.

He certainly has the physical and technical ability to play in the double pivot, but so far he's been a No.8 with a good attacking instinct. Can see Jurgen developing him into a Gundogan type midfielder ...

He is brilliant and he would certainly be my first choice. But yeah its likely he wants a huge contract and that basically rules us out.

It doesn’t rule us out if they’re willing to be paid for their performances. Salah was earning circa £400k in the CL/PL winning seasons, but we just refuse to pay that amount as a basic. We heavily incentivise our player contracts, so people think we don’t pay BIG wages because the basic is lower. We have one of the highest wage bills around when we’re doing well.

He is said to be on course to earn £18.3 million in wages and bonuses in 2021/22, or around £350,000 a week,

plus a further £11.7 million in personal endorsements.

So Barella this summer then Bellingham next summer should sort our midfield out for years.

Come on FSG we can afford it.

Has there been a single credible link that we are interested in Barella or even if Barella has expressed a desire to leave?

Declan Rice of West Ham, for example, has admirers, but is seen as expensive, both in terms of transfer fee and wages. Aston Villa youngster Carney Chukwuemeka, currently shining at the European Under-19 Championship with England, is also highly thought of, but might join Dortmund. Could he be the long-term replacement for Bellingham, perhaps?

Inter’s Nicola Barella, and Ibrahim Sangare of PSV are among those who have been linked. Klopp rates Barella in particular, while Salzburg’s Luka Sucic is viewed as a potentially-elite prospect, and Liverpool boast a strong relationship with the Red Bull group, which owns the Austrian champions

This is all speculations based on a Forbes article and I doubt Forbes knows how much Liverpool pay Salah or have access to his contract details to know the bonuses.

Also if we assume the numbers are right, it's pre-tax like what stated in the article. After being taxed Salah earnings from Liverpool will be much lower, no ?

It's speculation but he's on basic plus heavy incentives and a. is top of the class in the world game in all key metrics, and b. plays for a club that got to all the finals, won two of them, and ran Man City to the last few minutes of the league, reaching 92 points. It's probably fair to say he's enjoyed a few bonus clauses that'll take him into that region.

If you look at our total wage bill it's quite clear we pay big big wages. It may well be speculation (all wage discussion is as it's not public knowledge) but there are some stats we can look at to back speculation up and the figure in the accounts is one of them.

Forbes obtained the numbers from legit sources, including the players’ agents. It’s not speculation.

What has tax got to do with it? Or is it just you moving the goalposts?

I’d guess those figures from Forbes are close enough they usually are

And every one has to pay tax that’s life

Remember on about £3m a year at Roma .

Salah paid very well no matter what way you look at it and remember his career has took off playing for Liverpool , both parties played a blinder.

I like the idea, but wonder if Salzburg would actually be into it. Obviously they'd get to retain a good performer for another season if it happened, but their whole model seems to be bringing through talents and then selling them on. If they've already sold Sucic, is there huge incentive for them to have him still playing with them and blocking the path of another young talent?

Not exactly

'To compile our list, we spoke with clubs, players’ agents, commercial sponsors and worldwide soccer experts.'

Doesn't suggest they got all their information just from agents and sounds like there'll be some speculation there, or at least it's not going to be exact. And this is also assuming agents would be telling the truth

If he’s that good then just sign him, whether its Sukic/ Chukmueweka we need someone now.

Bellingham for next summer would be incredible but we considering the competition there is every chance we don’t sign him

I dont know what you mean by moving the goalposts.
No doubt he is paid very well but its not as simple as saying he earned close to 400k per week especially with many variables involved. Forbes or not the truth is nobody knows. Scouting players who we'll then continue to track when they move to Europe? It seems impossible for us to sign players directly from Brazil, can never seem to get them clearance to play.
