Grim news that.
He was such a great player, and always comes across as a good bloke in interviews.

I read about that yesterday, awful to hear that anyone has to live with that.  Joost was an awesome player, one of the best scrum halves the game has seen.

Horrific news. One of my best friends from school's father had it and it was an absolute horror seeing him deteriorate and given it is genetic it must be the worst thing to know that in all likelyhood the same thing will happen to you in 10 years or so.
It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

The All blacks were outstanding against a weak South Africa side. Are they peaking at the right time?

Controversially, if it came down to a choice between selling Suarez and selling Carroll, I’d sell Suarez.

Thought they looked about 70 per cent. Did enough to knock a weakened team off. The game this weekend will be a good pointer.

The All Blacks have got some good competition for the wing positions. Jane was outstanding against the Boks and Guildford wasn't far behind, then they have Sivivatu, Gear and Toeva, Kahui and Dagg as options.

Yep. Who would you for as the wingers? Depending on fitness, Id go with Gear and Jane

All Blacks need a scare or a loss in the lead up to ground them and they will be fine, no-one else seems to have much to offer, but the French can always be unbeatable on their day. Guildford and Jane look the form wingers for the ABs for me, and I'd bring in Robbie Fruean to go with Carter, Williams in the backs (all Canty I know) but he looks a beast as well.

Real tragedy about VDV, a real competitor and a great opponent, truly terrible news.
A win for the Liverpool country

Decent game between the All Blacks and Australia this morning. Plenty Australia can take away from this game despite the scoreline. They dominated possession but lacked the finishing touches on moves, whereas the All Blacks seemed to score every time they were in the Australian 22. Quade-Cooper faded badly and was a liability towards the end. Loved how Carter made Quade-Cooper look the pussy'ole he is by smashing people in defence (made two try saving tackles and turned the ball over numerous times). No hiding on the wing for Dan the man.

Looking forward to the England v Wales games, Girlfriend is a Taff, and her dad is Rugby mad.

If the 6 Nations are anything to go by we should smash them in both games. then i get bragging rights for a few weeks, (not too much though, he's a big lad and a copper too.)

Come on Wales! I obviously want Wales to win but really hoping for a good performance more than anything else. Really need to buck up our ideas ready for the RWC.

Its all about performances in any 'Friendly' or warm up game, but you know you'd like to get one over us, and unless we beat you i will have nothing to come back with when he digs into me about our new 'all Black' kit.

3-0

Still 3-0.

Ha ha fair point, i wish i could say i don't mind how we play as long as we get results, but i does bother me, i'd love to play the type of Rugby you boys used to play back in your pomp. but i doubt we'll ever see that type of game again.

You'll score a try today, i can't see Tuilagi remaing disciplned enough.

Conversion made.

Urgh. Wales concede a penalty for going offside. England decide against the 3-point penalty (shocking!) and start their drive towards the try line.

0-0. Good game so far considerin' the score. Scotland havin' lots of possession in the Irish half but Irish defence has been splendid so far. Irish backs lookin' good so far when they attack.

Faletau prevents England from scoring by kicking the ball down field. Delon Armitage with a huge run and stops short a few metres from the Wales try line. England currently driving. Haskell with the try for England from the scrum.

Currently 8-7 10-7, Wilkinson gets the conversion.

Wilkinson gets tackled hugely and forces the ball forward (but not given as a knock-on) which nearly results in Wales conceding a try. England currently driving forward about 10 metres out from the Wales try line.

Definitely too many mistakes going on, England are looking impressive though. Armitage is playing very well, some really good runs going on from the back.

England lead by six at half time, score is 13-7.
