nobody says much on twitter.. gets a bit boring for a social site

It is what you make of it really. I am set up to receive tweets from people I know and find interesting as well as various other bloggers on hockey (specifically Redwings).

Exactly. If you find Twitter either boring or stagnant, you're not using it right. It's about the best thing that has ever appeared on the Internet.

It can get annoying but only if you follow the wrong people and get reading every single thing. It's good for news quickly and you can ignore rumours from people on about their sources.

yeah i find it interesting now.  i find info quicker and easier to read on FB as a site gives regular updates.. on twitter, the info is immense and end up sifting through them all. if going through all the people i'm following, end up looking at all their realtime stuff, and if you miss an hour or two, it'll take an hour or two to catch up.  FB is quicker to go through.  so, i'm limiting the amount i follow to 20
can i have my old name back please?

Can anybody suggest a good tweeter (shakes head) for following that has Prem leag, Championship and La Liga results in the actual tweet so you don't have to click on link for results? Doesn't have to one for those leagues.

Far too many to list. Generally I follow a load that are in my industry (technology/software), products and services (Virginmedia, Council etc), politics, science, family and friends, interesting people, and a few interesting celebs.

The list is pretty fluid though with follows and unfollows every week.

I just cleaned my computer using Ccleaner and now twitter won't load in any browser or while using the Windows 10 app.

Looked on google but nothing there has helped.

Oh yea and twitter works fine on my phone...

Yeah was going to say the same. It's basically doing what MS does anyway but not as well, with some voodoo about cleaning up stuff that doesn't need to be cleaned up and claiming it will speed up your computer.

Thought this was going to be a thread about how Twitter is possibly humanity's worst invention and will be viewed by future historians as up there with nuclear weapons in terms of its destructiveness to society.

Hopefully it won't happen again for a long, long time, but next time something like 9/11 happens, it's when you're thankful twitter exists.

That probably looked like it made no sense, but I was convinced after watching how twitter helped with the plane crash the other week in Holland.

Interestingly, Twitter is nowhere near as popular as people in the twitter sphere believe. I saw a thing recently about how it's the 15th most popular Social Media app, I bet most of us can't even name 15 social media apps.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Yeah, it's because all the journalists use it that it gets all the media attention.

it's BS about free speech. just think how many billionaires 'control' some sort of media outlet, twitter is an extension of that, it's a powerplay for Musk and he knows his legions of libertarian 4chan followers and right-wingers lap it up.

was hoping Musk and his nerds would all fuck off to a different platform which would cull the amount of weird incels on the website dramatically.

Personally don’t think it will make very much difference at all. He’s talked about getting rid of the bits and needing anonymous accounts to be linked to actual people, this might well stop lots of the abuse that happens.

I think he’s wasted a huge chunk of his money though
