Any arl arses from the 70's remember this one?

To the tune of 'Ilkley Moor b'a tat'

Oh why are we so great?
Oh why are we so great?
Oh why are we so great?

Thinking about the Saints game the other night, we sang this in similar circumstances  ;D

Didn't this originate or have a variation when we played ..possibly a Scottish team in Europe ( Aberdeen ? ) and it was great or good was sung with a scottish accent

You could be right, we did play Hibs in the early 70's.

There's a song on here exactly the same, 'Oh why are we so good' with the same tune, so maybe it's my memory, but could've sworn we sang 'great' rather than 'good'.

Possibly the reason Ferguson hated us... we changed it to "goot" with faux Scottish accents cos we were battering the man's Aberdeen team into the ground.
They had been bigged up by the press as fantastic because the broke the old firm monopoly, just a shame they met us.
Anyway it was a piss take with the whole ground laughing at the likes of Miller and McLeish. Fergie got his own back by not taking Hansen to the World Cup, preferring the above two. This incurred the wrath of Kenny.
