I think that goal will give him and the other CB's more confidence to score during set pieces,

Robbo and Trent have been unbelievable in their crossing from freekicks and sometimes corners with little end result.

Although we have had a few goals chalked off for offsides.

in tight games scoring from a set piece can just unlock tight defences - plus it also helps in defending set pieces having Virgil at top of his game

If I'm honest I thought that he'd looked like that as he hurt his foot striking the ball, as if the contact was with his toes, because of the way he turned away from the strike.  You can see he makes a comment to Hendo who laughs at him (although he might have been telling the Saints fans "have that you fucking Judas-fearing no-mark wankers").

I did think everyone was far too early with the ‘he’s back!’ shouts earlier in the season - he was a long way off it. But he’s certainly very close to being back now. Remarkable come back really.
