All I would say is that he's simply far too talented for us not to find a place for him in the side, even considering the potential imbalances he causes.

This is the crux of it for me.

Trent is easily our most talented footballer under 30.

But he provides a challenge/opportunity for a new manager. How did you maximise his immense of the ball skills whilst minimising some of his weaknesses. It’ll be one of the things that makes or breaks the next manager.

I won't be "cheering" Arsenal on but I think they can win it for the same reasons I thought we could win it before things unfolded the way they did.

Ultimately we've fallen away as our lads have looked off since the internationals but Arsenal are still playing good stuff even though they've had a few wobbles and City I'm sure will drop points again.
Thing is I do think Arsenal will too with the fixtures they have...but they've a decent chance still

I don't even mention our derby wins to my blue friends or neighbour. It's just another day at the office. I smile to myself on the day, then move on. The Bitters will be going on about last night for the next 50 years. 

It's like it's 1978 all over again.

Dani Carvajal isn’t better than Trent. Definitely not over the last 3-5 years. Last 3 years Carvajal only been playing about 1500-1700 minutes per season in the league.

I understand the frustration with Trent in a defensive sense. In the league only he has 71 goal contributions in the last 6 season. For a player not taking pens, getting on average over 10 goal contributions  per season when playing in defence is not very common.

It might be that Trent’s time as a right back is coming to an end but let’s not denigrate his performance in the position when comparing him to the likes of Carvajal. There’s absolutely no chance we win the trophies we’ve done over the last 6 seasons if we swap out Trent for Carvajal.

It did get like that after about 65 mins, but again, not sure you can blame RAWK.

I don’t expect Liverpool fans to cheer us on, doesn’t really bother me either way, as others have pointed out, each person will have their own reasons for who they’d prefer to win it.

My only gripe is claiming all Arsenal fans wanted to City to win it over Liverpool. I can tell you that certainly wasn’t the case for the Arsenal guys on here, and for a few Arsenal fans I know. The fact Liverpool could win it through being such a well run club against City actually gave me great hope that it actually can be done.

People will have their own personal experience or interactions of that time of course, but it certainly seems different from mine.
