Remember his penchant for Nazi artwork? 🤔

He was clearly sowing the seeds before coming out.

'There is a trait in the Jewish character that does provoke animosity, maybe it’s a kind of lack of generosity towards non-Jews. I mean there is always a reason why anti-anything crops up anywhere; even a stinker like Hitler didn’t just pick on them for no reason' - Roald Dahl

I was actually going to ironically attribute the quote to "noted anti-semite Roald Dahl" but didn't want to distract from and undermine it. It's probably the only passage from any of his books that I still remember quite clearly, decades on.
"The nicest thing about quotes is that they give us a nodding acquaintance with the originator which is often socially impressive."

~ Kenneth Williams, with whom I'm noddingly acquainted. Socially impressed?

Brother went out with his newborn yesterday(I think) to meet the family of another baby born in the same hozzy on the same day and were  having a good time until they saw the cars of Bebes funeral pass. Said it was bizarre. Everyone was laughing and joking at the place they were at then the place went quiet. As everyone realised what was happening. He had to come home cos he felt sick

Pakistan arrests man over Southport attack disinformation

Authorities in Pakistan have arrested a man on suspicion of cyber terrorism, in relation to disinformation thought to have fuelled UK unrest.

Police told the BBC that Farhan Asif was linked to a website which gave a false name for the suspected Southport attacker and suggested incorrectly that he was an asylum seeker who arrived in the UK on a small boat.

The article, published on the website Channel3Now in the hours after the attack, was widely quoted in viral posts on social media.

Unrest broke out in England and Northern Ireland after the fatal stabbing attack, in which three young girls died.

On raiding Mr Asif’s property, the police recovered 2 laptops and a mobile phone used by Mr Asif.

After analysing the devices, the police say that the account on X (formerly Twitter) for Channel3Now was found active.

On Tuesday, police in Lahore said they had questioned Mr Asif about the article.

Mr Asif said he had written it based on information copied from a UK-based social media account without verifying it, a police officer told the BBC.

The officer told the BBC that Mr Asif said that he ran the website alone.

The police report states that Mr Asif told them that he runs the X account with the purpose of sharing national and international news, and that he picked up the alleged tweet from another twitter user - without checking the authenticity of the information before sharing.

The police say that he used his account “with the intent to glorify the incident about the arrest of a Muslim asylum seeker by police… and created a sense of fear, panic, insecurity in the Government and the public” and it is on this basis that they have filed a case against him.

The police report also states that “Farhan Asif admitted to providing misleading information to the BBC regarding his accomplices in an attempt to divert blame to others.”

Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency has since taken up the case and will investigate whether anyone further is involved.

BBC Verify previously tracked down several people linked to Channel3Now and questioned a person who claimed to be “management” at the site.

That person told the BBC that the publication of the false name “shouldn’t have happened, but it was an error, not intentional”.

False information about the attacker spread online after three young girls were killed at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on 29 July.

Violent disorder then broke out in Southport before spreading to towns and cities across England and Northern Ireland, fuelled by misinformation, the far-right and anti-immigration sentiment.

According to the latest Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) figure on Tuesday, 494 people have been charged in relation to the recent rioting and unrest.

More than 130 people have already been sentenced with most sent to jail.

Update: This article originally reported that police in Pakistan had told the BBC that Farhan Asif had been charged with cyber terrorism. The police have since confirmed that he is under arrest but has not been charged and we have updated our article to make that clear.

I think very few will actually mean it. If we look at the overwhelming majority of those already jailed they have strings of convictions to their name. There's been very few, if any, upstanding citizens in that number. I suspect that the overwhelming majority of those at the forefront were made up of two categories. One being your hardened far-right racist with entrenched hateful beliefs. And two, your opportunist petty criminals and urban street terrorists we normally see in their Nike ninja suits and gimp masks outside the local shops causing trouble for locals year round.

For the second group, it's simply a free-for-all. An opportunity to loot, destroy and fight the police in what they feel is the safety of numbers. The inclination is already in them. They just let it out given the opportunity. Unfortunately, these kinds of characters only really feel sorry for themselves and for the fact they were caught, because I really think they thought they'd get away with it.

Selfish acts by selfish people. Opportunists enjoying a free-for-all ... until plod come through their front door and arrest them. Then, they suddenly find a fake conscience, because they feel that doing so will lighten the sentence.

People can change. I know that. I've changed a lot myself, and I've seen people change due to my work in therapy. But they really have to want to and really have to apply themselves on a consistent basis. And those looking to change positively are just the tip of the iceberg, because the rest of the iceberg doesn't really want to change at all, and seems quite happy thinking and doing as it does.

I highly doubt the sentences will change most of the perpetrators ways and beliefs. Most will feel sorry, but only for themselves. Most of them will have been there in the first place because an underlying belief they have is that everything is someone else's fault and, as a consequence, they don't need to be held accountable for their own actions.

There was one this week who went into the town centre to buy a suit and ended up throwing a brick or something at the cops.

At least he got to wear the suit in Court. ;D

12-year-old boy's sentencing delayed because of mother's holiday to Ibiza
published at 11:48 British Summer Time
11:48 BST
The sentencing of a 12-year-old who admitted to participating in two separate incidents of disorder in Manchester last month has been adjourned because his mother has gone on holiday to Ibiza, a court heard.
District Judge Joanne Hirst told Manchester Magistrates' Court she was "frankly astonished" that the boy's mother had decided to fly abroad for a five-day sunshine break.
Judge Hirst adjourned sentencing of the boy for two counts of violent disorder and ordered a parental summons so the mother must appear before the court when she passes sentence on September 11.
The boy cannot be identified due to his age.

I saw that about the mother being in Ibiza while her young son potentially goes to jail.

If you have any questions about why the kid has been caught wrecking his community, your answer is right there.

It sounds like the apple didn't fall far from that particular tree. Some kids have virtually no hope, being dragged up by these so-called parents.
