1st Annual RAWK Anonymous UEFA Champions League & Europa Cup Draft Competition Rules - (****Read only thread) b]RAWK Schedule of Events for Managers[/b]
DAY #5 - Scoring & The DrawFriday February 5th, 2021 - Scoring & The DrawOld Rules for Anonymous Style Tournaments - Rules that will be the same as the World Cup Holiday Draft
1.
Anonymity: Managers are instructed and incentivized to avoid telling the group who (which team(s) they have been assigned
2.
Voting & Organizational Systems: Draws are still included; Points for wins and votes for tie-breaks; If I have to break a tie, I will always vote for pens first
Teams will be built through me using Buildlineup.com this time -- organization will be done by me and the manager(s) email
3. The first 16 assignments will be randomly drawn again and assigned by me.
4. There will be four matches every day until we get to the Semis and Finals
5. There will be
one opportunity during the draft to make any changes to teams - Costs 5 votes per change with a maximum of 2 in total
6. Every Pot 3 or Pot 4 team who makes the knockouts, will be awarded a 1 point bonus
7. The basic tenets still apply (same rule
one player from each 70s/80s/90s/00s/10s & no more than 3 in any one decade) + 1 Wildcard between the two teams being managed
8. Each manager will be allowed up to 2 changes for either of his teams (between end of 2nd game and beginning of 3rd group match). It will cost 5 votes per change.
LAST TIMESo, much of the fun during our last anonymous draft was in how the desire to answer criticism was harnessed by the importance of staying anonymous. There were some fantastic posts that will go down as some of the more hilarious pieces of fiction ever written on RAWK.
I heard all kinds of griping that was so delicious to hear and then see how the manager processed this anger into making changes when public opinion is against you. Finally RAWK, the supporters have to create believers from nothing! How very Jurgen of us!
Anyway, in an effort to make this entire spectacle last longer, maintain interest, and produce some conscientious shit talk that leads to something, the commissioner has devised a point system for subterfuge that will also count towards manager totals.
There are four ways you can accrue points while waiting for voting to commence or finish. They are below. Points for detective work, internet influencing, humorists or people who know how to cause distress, and those who are adept at clearing their own fingerprints on catastrophe.
Allow this to be fun, if possible, as this is more of an experimental aspect of the draft -- something could fall off in future competitions if it became tiresome, too conflictual or was too impulsive and easy to read.
New Rules for Champions League Tournament #1 1. There will be a new separate subterfuge point system introduced in this tournament (added to the contest and could change the course of RAWK history)
I am calling it (SPAR) - Shithouse Post Anonymous Rules
A.
Sherlock Deduction Post: Each manager gets 5 posts to correctly name any opponent's team (5 POINTS MAX)
1) If posting manager is correct, the points will be awarded to the total points in the next playing round but will not be made public until (Knockouts/Semis)
2) If posting manager is incorrect, then..... (still working on)
B.
Hammer Time Influence Post: When a post or a group of posts leads to a manager making a change to their side after a perceived poor choice via post
1) "Henry has no business playing on the left side" --- and the manager makes a move to change him and reposition him (1 POINT PER CHANGE)
C.
Funny Funny Posts: The poster who causes the most distress to the other managers will gain (3 points determined at the end of the tournament)
1) Criteria: Because managers cannot respond directly to criticism without "outing" themselves, manager who cause havoc via humor compete for 3 points
**** the commissioner will cut and paste the winning entries (must have at least two solid posts and the commissioners confirmation to win)
D.
Cover Your Ass (CYA) Protect Your Anonymity Posts: 5 best posts that muddy the water most effectively will be given a point each over the tournament. Pure subterfuge (1 Point per Manager Max)
SPAR Topic Possible Points Result Guess a Manager 5 Either (you guess 5 teams correctly or 5 teams guess incorrectly about you)
The Sherlock
Undue Influence
The Hammer Time 1 Can you post something that will influence other managers into making changes
Chaos Humor 3 Can you trigger someone into outing their team? Can you use humor to cause knock on effects?
Funny Funny
CYA - Subterfuge 1 Can you cover your tracks? Best post at obscuring their teams get a max of 1 point (top 5 get points)
RECAPManagers score points through wins and draws for both of their teams. Votes are used to break ties and also a kind of currency for making any changes or dominating opponents.
The SPAR system allows for extra points to be earned at the end of the tournament and will not be calculated except at one point (before knockouts) during play. At the end, we will have another big reveal to see who is the King of Bullshit.

VotingThere are three possible outcomes for all games:
1. Winning
2. Draw
3. Losing
Votes will be counted in aggregate over the entire tournament to help break ties and to give credit to teams who do enough to earn a draw but not enough to win the match.
The commissioner is the last person to vote in this game. My job is, as I see it, is to get a result that works.
For me, if given a choice, and it is not a blow out, I WILL ALWAYS VOTE TO NARROW THE MARGINS --- WHICH USUALLY MEANS A DRAW. When we get to knockouts, this will mean penalties. I will always try to let luck run the draft rather than the heavy hand of the last vote.
Be warned. And be prepared to win by more than one if you want comfort from this commissioner
