Definitely. I've had Funeral and the EP for ages and never get tired of listening to it again - each time I revisit it, I hear something new in the songs. Their performance with David Bowie was pretty excellent as well!

WTF WAS THAT?
Stackman
All this was a long time ago, I remember,
And I would do it again, but set down
This set down
This: were we led all that way for
Birth or Death? There was a Birth, certainly,
We had evidence and no doubt. I had seen birth and death,
But had thought they were different; this Birth was
Hard and bitter agony for us, like Death

:D Fashion Rocks in NYC - they performed Five Years, Wake Up, and Life on Mars? together. I've got mp3s somewhere, but you can watch Five Years and Wake Up on Youtube. Fantastic. The celebrities in the crowd 'dancing' are kind of cringeworthy, though.

Top band. I've been a big fan since they took the states by storm about two years ago. Got the EP and the album and seen them a few times live now. There are some posts on RAWK raving about their live performances.

I'd urge you to try another Montreal band called Wolf Parade, who released their debut last year. Win Butler said their track 'I Believe in Anything' was the best thing he heard last year. And I tend to agree  ;D Their stuff is less orchestrated than AC and they have a yelpy singer that can take a while to get used to, but it's a great album.

While I'm on Canadian bands, Broken Social Scene are playing at Lvpl Carling Academy on August 30th. Really looking forwad to that.

according to their website they're well into recording their new album which is due out early next year .... Funeral was one of the best debut albums I've ever heard so it's going to be a hard act to follow ..... agree with chipbuttie too about Wolf Parade ... a very good band ... it would seem Canada is having a minor renaissance what with Destroyer, Neko Case, New Pornographers, Wolf Parade and Arcade Fire all bringing out really good albums in the last year and a half or so

Another great Canadian band to add to the mix that I *highly* recommend is The Hidden Cameras, especially the albums 'The Smell of our Own' and 'Mississauga Goddamn'. One of my favourite bands, although really it is just one guy that does most of it.

Heard 2 new songs from the new album, love them.

Black Wave/Bad Vibrations (which was the song that was apparently leaked to Itunes on accident)

Intervention

Very high hopes for the album as these 2 songs haven't disappointed me.  As for it leaking on P2P, they asked for anyone who has downloaded illegally to consider donating to http://pih.org (fair enough IMO)  I donated as I couldn't buy them from Itunes being in Sweden!

jaysus i didnt even think of that, jsut as well didnt get tuesday now! rumours abound that they held back half of tue tickets...not sure how true it is though. MOn was sold in seconds seems fairly dodgy was online and into it at 9:00 on the dot none available straight away basically.

and of course plenty on ebay especially when some were printed before they even went on sale...hmmm

Saw them last night and what can I say!!!

A truly incredible band - opened with Guns Of Brixton and sung it in the middle of the Church acoustically.

The majority of the set was from Neon Bible bar Tunnels & Rebellion.

Have to say I loved the first EP and album (especially the Neighbourhood tunes) but hated Neon Bible, thought it was too overproduced. But having listened to their new ones on that website, I'm back on board. Great stuff.

I've tried Anfield, Manly (Sydney) and Brighton it's been absolutely spot on.
