Anyone been/going to the rebellion festival in Blackpool? There are quite alot of bands I want to go see spread over the 4 days, but the problem seems to be where to sleep as there isn't camping and proper buildings and that look to be expensive.

So anyone been or plan to go got any recommendations for staying or do I need to make a difficult decision over what day to go on.

Thinking about heading out to Dour next month with a few mates, though I'm not sure I can afford it and there's very few there I'm desperate to see, maybe Wax Tailor and Steve Von Till maybe. Would stay over there for Boomtown in Ghent a few days later though to watch 65daysofstatic.

Went to the Dot To Dot one day festival thing last bank holiday Monday in Manchester. Some excellent performances from the likes of Wild Beasts, The Answering Machine and Beach House as well as a fantastic show from Liars. But fuck me, none of them came close to The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, absolutely incredible stuff.

Yep that's Green Day getting people on stage to sing and even play guitar on occasion. Was a good day, perfect weather for an outdoor gig. Only downside was drinking behind enemy lines in the trafford beforehand.

In support both Frank Turner and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were good and can't believe how well JJ looked at her age. Put me to shame anyway.

Just spotted The Wedding Present - 21st anniversary Bizarro Tour

Anyone seen them in the last few years? Are they any good now?
I love Bizarro but a few disappointing gigs have made me wary of seeing bands I loved back in the day (and the constant line-up changes of TWP make me doubly wary)

25 june-Pearl Jam London Hyde Park

Doing this also. Really can't wait since Pearl Jam are absolutely superb live (if you like that type of thing). My only nagging doubt is whether Hyde Park as a venue will right for their type of show. Saw them at the O2 arena last Aug and they were absolutely immense, and even though the gig was huge in terms of numbers there was a definite intimacy about it. Just don't expect to see that at Hyde Park. Suport acts aren't too bad to be fair with Gaslight Anthem, The Hives and Ben Harper supporting.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

My summer festival schedule has been thrown out the window by a snapped anterior cruciate ligament :(

I can't stand the thought of not doing a festival at all so was looking at ATP's Belle and Sebastian curated Bowlie 2 in December - has anyone been to an ATP in Minehead? Any good?
My first reaction is that it seems a little on the pricey side given it has a lot less music than normal festivals, and the whole indoor thing seems a bit odd to me, but maybe the unusualness of it adds a certain something?

Hyde Park was good and Pearl Jam didn't disappoint though the venue isn't great for a short a*se like me! Surprised by the crowd size -  about 50k for a band who haven't had a hit single in the UK for about 15 years is amazing. I can't imagine the other people on the bill would have attarcted a large component of that crowd either.

New stuff came across good though highlights were the older material - Alive, Yellow Ledbetter and Betterman. I think I liked Betterman just for the crowd reaction to the woman 'flashing' the big screen!
