Tate Collective Open Call
Photographing the North West
Want to see your work on billboards across Liverpool and in Tate Liverpool?

Tate Collective want you to submit a photograph in response to the Don McCullin exhibition. McCullin is known for taking gripping photographs of people and places. Many of these were taken in Liverpool and the North West.

Fast forward to the present day. We’d like to document these extraordinary times with a focus on hope and the future.

30 photos will be chosen to be displayed on billboards around Liverpool, as well as at Tate Liverpool. These photos will be chosen by a group of creative professionals, curators and young people. The photographers will be paid a fee of £150 for use of their work.

This open call was produced in collaboration with our Tate Collective Producers in Liverpool. Find out more about Tate Collective Producers here.

GET INVOLVED

Send us your photographs taken in Liverpool and across the North West region. These photos should represent the area, its culture, personality, and communities. Your photographs could show experiences and memories from the past or special places for friends and family. They could also show your personal connection with a place you know and how it has changed in recent months.

What stories would you like to share through your photographs, what do you feel strongly about and what are your hopes for the future in the city and North West region?

Your photos don’t have to be new, so long as they fit the criteria. Photos taken on a digital or manual camera are a much higher resolution than those taken on a mobile phone. Check your file size to see if it fits our criteria below.

This opportunity is an open callout for 16-25s who are part of Tate Collective. You can join Tate Collective for free.

Please adhere to current lockdown rules when taking your photos.
