His parents were from Liverpool I think, he used to go the match with his Dad when he was growing up.

Had a nightmare with their booking system. In the queue before 6pm, straight to tickets bang on the hour, then nothing available. Had to sit and watch it go from 100% availability to sold out over 30 mins without being allowed to book! Every so often would give me chance to add tickets to basket, but every time I clicked they disappeared. Shame!

Not sure how I managed to be honest. I booked 4. Then out of interest at 3mins past tried to see if I could get any more and couldn’t - same as what you described.

Really does sound like Anfield is a no go. Prep work for concert starting from 30th May apparently. Screening at the Arena instead.

Tweet did say they’re all gone - or in peoples baskets, so it’s probably that.

Not my excuse. But could also be a valid reason.

The bloke I work with who does the extra 30 or so shifts a year (helping keep the show on the road for the rest of us) - in addition to his day job - probably fancies watching the match himself with his family for once, as I'm sure would many of the others.

Perhaps the club could outsource the roles, but there'll no doubt be police and council contracts in place that likely represent stumbling blocks.

If the club doesn't show the game on screens, any reccomendations for where I can watch it in Liverpool. Wanna bring my 7 year old lad up but he's buzzing to come up, even if its pubs.

Did Liverpool have a fan park last year? Saw concert square was rammed.

Seems strange the club had the foresight to book the M & S Arena six months ago and yet they saw fit to make Anfield available for a concert at the same time. It’s hardly unknown for us to qualify for a European cup final, is it? Very disappointing, we should be catering for fans to watch the game in our own stadium and the Arena won’t even start to meet the demand.

Poor by the club but they know enough people would still go to the arena. I would, not Anfield but I like many want to be with lots of reds.

Is the club selling tickets for it or is it going to be buying direct from the arena. For last year did they do priority or was it just a free for all?

I think last year you needed European credits, might be wrong tho.

9k is shockingly bad, I’m sure they sold 30k at anfield last year. Must be somewhere better to hold it.

That’s annoying that the screening won’t be at Anfield. Liverpool was rammed to the max last year and there’s no way everyone will be able to watch it from just the city centre. Surely the club will do something else?

Ridiculous by the club to allow a concert taking place there as well when they knew the possibility of a final then

He's from Frodsham, but his mum grew up in Liverpool. Barlow's first match was Emlyn Hughes' Testimonial.

Other Take That member, Mark Owen, is also a big Liverpool fan.

Barlow was said to be made up with their Anfield date because he believed we'd have won the league by then. I don't think he'd given Big Ears any thought then.

It's a pity the club couldn't put up a big screen in front of the Liver Building, or on the 'Liverpool Waters' site.

There were hospitality packages available last year for the final starting at £25 per person including food. Think it might’ve been in the Main Stand but not sure. Hoping they might do the same this time around at least.

Then there’s the option of the new Kop Bar? Unless the whole ground is going to be out of commission due to this bloody concert.
