Cantlay is 2nd on tour in first round scoring average this season, so might be tempted to add him too at 66/1.

Just noticed Brian Harman's finishing this season

Played 11 events finished top ten 7 times!!

That is some form.

Just had a decent punt on top 10 finish at 8/1. Few quid left over went on Rahm FRL at 42.0

That is well and truly it for me. Good luck guys

Johnson, Thomas & Mcilroy to make an eagle during the masters - 6/1

Any of McIlroy D Johnson or Rose to have Bogey Free Round 1

boosted from 4/1 to 8/1 on skybet

any one know if this has a good chance of landing?

I got 2 at -3 and 2 both slightly over par, so not too bad, just hope Spieth doesn't keep this pace up.  ::)

I sometimes follow the oddschecker tips and they looked for a while like they were going to get a whopper of a win in the first round, an 80/1 winner, it came in EW still though.

I've had a few quid EW on Charley Hoffman to be second round leader at 27/1

Obviously relying on Spieth to have an average day but Charley does put in good early rounds here.

Also, small bets EW on both Johnson's (Z and D) to be second round leader (1/4 odds 1-2-3)

I've got nice ante post tickets on Tommy Fleetwood at 100/1 and Charley Hoffman at 150/1 from earlier in the year.

Since then little e/w goes on Kizzire at 175/1 (10 places), Henley 110/1 (8 places) (and 90/1 FRL). Plus Matsuyama at 33/1 (8 places). Big price for him although injury problems obviously a concern.

I cannot for the life of me split the top of the market. All signs point to Justin Rose in fairness but just don't want to back him. Getting yourself in the right positions with your second shot is absolutely key so strokes gained: approach is the stat to look out for I think. Sergio, Phil, JT, Spieth, Hideki, Tiger all towards the top of that this season...

All between 10th-20th, shame that so many of the big boys played well!

Seems like Thomas fell apart in the last few hik s, same with Casey (after a great run) and Rose couldn’t hole anything so alas, I came away empty handed.

Butch Harmon was saying in commentary last night Casey was telling him he damaged his back at the start of the week due to the firm bed he was sleeping on! Casey said he could barely swing a club on Thursday. I had money on him as well.

yes i heard that - i was amazed actually that given the money they play for / earn and the prep they go to for these big tournaments that it comes down to pot luck on your mattress

Thought when they rented a gaff they get their support bod to make sure it had the preferred mattress in it!

thats mad about the mattress

think money is being invested in properties around there

casey was on fire for a while yesterday. he was about 7 under for the back 9 at one point. if he parred the last two holes he would have tied the course record

i hope he will play the ryder cup

He will. He's rejoined the European Tour now, so he's eligible. Injury is the only thing that will stop him teeing it up in Paris.

I've read articles before about people who own properties in Augusta being able to rent their house out for two weeks around the tournament and make enough money to pay their mortgage for the whole year.

i am sure there are plenty of takers

when the ryder cup was in Ireland, people made a fortune renting out houses

i notice on airbnb a few are already charging mega money for portstewart for the british open in 2019

Any US Open thoughts?

Looks and sounds quite a brutal course I think? Does that suit the steadier player, and presumably those who are rock solid around the green? Rose’s odds are too low for me to have a nibble I think.
