Ahhhh, the words of an sm novice. Play the game long enough and you'll soon be bamboozling your mates with your knowledge of young players from uzbeckistan and other such exotic places.

Yes probably.

But some of these are 17 years old.  Will we still be playing this in 10 seasons to see the best of them?!

If so, I guess I better get some.

Probably not but they can rise in no time and people love to trade for young players. SM is also about scouting. Just a taste, You can start by bookmarking this, i know i have.... ;D

I can't even find some of the players selected on the database in the game.

Kimmich for example.

Strange. Type his name in the search box, sometimes you have to use their first name first

Kimmich for example.

The player search on the old interface is really shit for me. Messi, Neymar, Neuer and probs others don't show up. Fine on the new interface, though it's not as user friendly. Actually it only started happening when they introduced the new one. It's like it's deliberate.

I tend to use Transfermarkt and WhoScored to find players now, then hop over to SM to check their availability.

Good choices, I was going to go for Kante. They will all be worth more in a couple of days as well.

The minimum squad size is 20. So aim to sign at least 9. If still under 20 on the day of the first match (Jan 8th) Soccer Manager will automatically fill up the remainder (presumably with the cheapest players available, hello Heskey!)

Oh, so I should take into account that all players might gain or lose points and their current rating isn't going to stick for this season.

The Premier League review is happening now, so some players' ratings will change. La Liga will be reviewed straight after as well. The other major leagues have just been reviewed, the next one will probably be in May.

Yes, they start from the bottom of the league and work their way up. United is due next.

Might do spurs too. You'd wanna hope you get that Dele Alli bid accepted before he rises ;D

I know, that's one of the reasons I want this process to speed up. My next player is due a rise as well.

It's taking too long, I'm going to lose interest soon.

He said that he plans to retire at 40 after the 2018 World Cup.

If anyone wants to know who's been picked, just go to the opening post and hit CTRL and F, and type a players name in the bottom of the screen. I'm trying to keep it updated regulary

Yes, and yes, and their value goes down too and eventually they'll put in a transfer request

Unhappy mainly at not playing I assume?

So the size of the squad maybe shouldn't be that big to keep most players happy.

Yes. No they will be unhappy at playing only if the ratings are more or less the same across the board. An 88 forward on the bench wont complain much with Tevez ahead of him in the pecking order, as an example.

Concerns are off. Unless you're on about the 'morale' bar but I thought that was just a whimsical aside.
