Damn shame we didnt get at least one in, but still well in with a chance. Real a good team and great at taking the sting out so it aint easy, but once we grab one they are in trouble.

Not sure what there is to say. We're still alive and there's 45 minutes to go.

Would get Jota on for Milner and probably do the same switch as usual where Kabak comes out for Thiago with Fabinho dropping back. Doubt we'll see any other subs than that.

We're playing well and I'm really happy Milly is doing so well - some of the abuse aimed at him beforehand was ridiculous. Trent and Gini have also been really good.

It's hard not to think we'll rue those missed chances but more of the same and hopefully the goals will come.

Definitely the better team, as the half went on. Sloppy passing at times in the opening 10-30, wasteful.

RM not at their best but neither are we, at least in terms of clinical shots. Would have loved a goal to seal the deal in that half but we still have a Jota, who might fancy it tonight.

Frustrating in front of goal again. Also, if there were 50,000 odd reds inside that stadium and there’s a good chance they’d be down to 10. Casemiero could easily have walked for that lunge on Milner, the intention was just to hurt Milner which is what could have pushed it over the threshold to a sending off.

Milner and Gini being pointless as usual. Get them both off, put on Thiago and Jota or Thiago and Jones/Keita. We need more creativity.

Times we have looked good were when we kept the ball on the floor and played short quick passes. Hope we do that more often. Less of the long ball forward, cross into the box, defender head it away, rinse repeat stuff.

Most importantly we gotta convert our chances, Salah could have had 2. It's like the Atletico Madrid game again.

If we don't step this up a notch, bring on more creativity and clinicalness, we're going out.

Promising....but so fucking frustrating.
Salah has to score that early chance. If this was last season, it'd be 4-0 now.
Anyway, keep going, Jota on early enough second half and let's squeeze a few more openings out of them.

Is this a bottle job? What can explain 3 of those finishes (Salah, Salah, Wijnaldum), and the attack when Firmino messed up? That shot from Wijnaldum was from about 10 yards and nearly went half of that over. I don’t get it.

If anything Mane has been good today. Wouldn’t mind Jota in, but not desperate for that at halftime. If anything Firmino is a bit shakey with his passes. But he also does other things well today.

Real seemed to completely take all of their sting out of their counter attacks to waste time to try and recycle the ball back into midfield. Good for us as it still keeps us in the game.

Thought we did well at the start and the end of the half. Middle part the game slowed a little too much for my liking which Real seemed to thrive on

I say we put on another attacker in the second half around 60 minutes if its still 0-0. May be Jota for Milner and just go for it.

More chaos and drive at their back line and we will create more.

Don't think we need to rush Jota into the game and risk upsetting a pretty rare very good balance in our performance. Give the same team another 15 minutes or so to keep doing what they've been doing and throw him on when their legs have gone.

Those misses are criminal, we should be out of sight because Madrid are leggy as fuck and will tire more in the second half. Can't really fault them for effort, the build up play has been great, but maybe they need reminding that the ball thing goes in that big fucking net thing. Anyway, hope I'm proven wrong but can't help thinking the full Madrid shithousery experience will be out in the second half and those misses will be our undoing. Very frustrating because they are absolutely there for the taking.

The worrying part is Madrid are so good at keeping the ball. We had them on the ropes in that opening quarter of an hour and really needed a goal out of it.
