Sidenote:

Lancs are 227/3 after bowling Sussex out for 127.

Can you imagine being a county player and having to play a match today whilst the World Cup final is on? I bet Old Trafford is empty too after having a good crowd on yesterday.

Too early for that. Nicholls is firmly set for NZ, he'll have to do what Williamson was going to do and bat deep. If he does that it will negate Williamson's wicket.

He gave Guptill out which was upheld on review didn’t he? Granted it was plumb and a daft review so he shouldn’t get too much credit.

Poor decision, not sure why he didn’t give that originally, there was nothing else it could have hit and there was a definite noise.

far too early to be saying that. if they were 110/8 it'd be another matter but they're only 2 down and taylor is quality.

Any score above 200 is hard to chase under the pressure of it being the World Cup final

New Zealand do look a little pedestrian in their batting but they are still at over 4 an over which isn't bad at all. Gives them the chance to go for it later on.

I think NZ realise that they have a chance with a score of about 250. You can add 20-30 runs to that as pressure on account of it being a World Cup final, maybe another 10 or so more with England being the favourites and at home. It won’t be an easy chase.

They got blown away 4 years ago, so they are going to stay in the game this time.
