One goal per minute, not bad...
Seriously, almost one goal per game as striker is incredibly good. He doesn't need to improve on those numbers, just maintain them for a longer period.
He was bought to play in another position, but who cares?  Best striker we've had since Sturridge got injured, easily.

I like him as the lone striker. Just need to get some more pace around him now, so we can profit from his good 1- and 2-touch play. Need to have someone breaking in behind when he drops a few yards to get involved. That's where Alex Teixeira looks like he would have been handy.

When Firmino is playing striker, he has a different role. He won't be as involved in the open play. In fact, strikers that drop deep or wide are usually struggling, so they get desperate to get involved. Playing striker means a lot more running without getting the ball, so he'll need patience.

When was the last time an attacking midfielder has gone from a creative no. 10 role to out and out forward.. successfully?

(I don't mean an attacking mid turned occasionally used false 9 type forward, when suited either)

5 goals 3 assists in 6 games as a forward, damn good stuff.

If Sturridge is ever fit he could be a great second striker with him

Maybe. The bench was awful wasn't it. Would have liked to see a couple of first choice players there and maybe coming on for the last 15 mins. That could have made the difference.

Think we missed a trick not having him on the bench for the last 20

Klopp's intention is to give the lads who've not had much rest time a week off when we can. Firmino in particular we need to wrap in cotton wool. At least until we have Origi back.

I think he's thinking in the long run as much as anything. We have the Europa league coming up soon so it's not gonna be easy going from now until the end of the season. So using this game as a chance to give our more favoured starters a bit of a break is more long term thinking.
The bonus is Klopp is properly getting to know more about our younger/fringe players and what they can bring to the side.

It wouldn't have made any difference at all having him on the bench for the last 20  ;)

Our one single shining light right now.

8 games as no.9 in the league -- 6 goals 4 assists

These are Suarez level of numbers and that`s with Milner and Lallana as his main helpers for the most part. He`s gonna be top, top class player for us. Can`t wait to see him with Sturridge, Phil and Origi around him.

So pleased for him, posting great numbers playing with players that attacking wise are more limp than Peles dick. Long may it continue, he's probably the only thing we have to be cheerful about at the moment.

Quality player.

We need more like him.  He's still adjusting, and improving as he does so, but he is one we need to build around.

Given how broken our attack is and how bad the service is to him and how badly every other 'attacking player' has played this year - his numbers are pretty incredible

Check the assist for Lallana. Composure and awareness of exactly how much time and space he's got leads to good decision making in pressure situations. Sturridge-aside he's the only one who consistently demonstrates it. Smart footballer.

Firmino's at like 6 goals and 4 assist in 8 games as striker now right?
Edit: That's about 72 mins per G&A, to compare with Aguero's number.
And everyone can see he could do better. Not to mention the team.

Yup. Insane numbers, if Suarez had them in those games we`d be all saying 'sounds about right' and that`s all with Milner and Lallana closest to him for the most part, playing in a one-paced team.

Also you can`t help notice when you watch him he`s dying for some Sturridge-like pace around him to create space for himself as well, you can say that for our every player in the final third but then again Lallana is allergic to through balls and Milner for the most part is not that creative.

I`m chomping at a bit seeing him next to Sturridge and Origi as they can make him even more effective.

In fairness he has laid on a couple of beauties for Milner recently as well ... we didn't score .. of course.

Was very good today again. I have been critical of him but since the turn of the year he has done very well. Been impressed by his hold up play when up against centrebacks.

Lacking some pace though so if we are to have him and Coutinho in a front 3/4 then for god sakes please buy some players with pace.

His work rate has upped, reminds me of when Coutinho first came. The thing today though was his speed of thought and how quickly he made effective through balls.Hes the one shining light in this shitty season.Started off slowly but hes really getting up to speed now.I think he will be immense next season.

Great talent but some people need to stop comparing to Suarez. No where near. Will love it if he is but he's not.

Looking forward to some decent players around him
