He may have been at his best outside of the PL but he was still better than Toure and Rudiger ever were during his Chelsea days.

Game 1. Two so, so defences that will ship goals but Las is far more honest. Alonso at Bolton and Reina at Villa were less than average and goes against the spirit of the draft for me, nothing personal but that's what I'm looking at when choosing. Two decent midfields and front 3's, both well drafted there. High scoring game but Lastrador wins it

Game 2. Two really well dfrafted teams. Max wing backs are a bridge too far to me. Both at the clubs chosen and also their positions. However, really good picks other than those two. The Lawman team , bar Finnan at Fulham, is excellent and well thought out. The front 4 is absolutely nuts but I think would work a treat. I was a great fan of McGrath. What a player he could have been had he been fitter. Tight game but the wing back picks go against my criteria for this particular draft and I really like the lawmans team

Game 3. Jesus , it's a tight one, tough to split them. All well drafted according to my interpretation of the rules. It's a draw really but actually gonna pick because of the keepers and Nicks Jaskelainnen was a cracker, far better than James. Sorry, Hazell, it was that tight

I have to disagree Bobby on Walker. Yes Riise is a cheesy pick but Walker played more football for Tottenham than he has for City.

He was excellent at Spurs which earned him the big-money transfer, he has performed at a similar level at both clubs IMO. Of course, he won more trophies at City but that's because Spurs are well Spurs. He was a huge part of Pochettino's defence.

You have a point on Walker, yes, he was okay at Tottenham but did he play wing back there mate?  Or has he anywhere? Never been a fan to be fair. Got a mistake in him at the top level as he has shown on many occasions. Still think he's played his best football at City but he's never been for me. It was a close one, mate

This isn't anything to do with the draft or my team but I believe James was a far better keeper than is often remembered. He had his well documented clangers for us but his best years were at West Ham and Portsmouth and he was a far more solid keeper at those clubs. The biggest problem for him was his concentration, something he got better at those clubs.

Jaaskelainen was fine pick as well by the way.

If my memory of the teletext rumours page is correct I’m sure it was us and them in for him at that time and with Houllier arriving I thought we had a chance. Given how ropey we’d become at centre back, he’d have made such a difference for us.

All votes against my team are entirely justified given my side is arguably the weakest in the draft. I missed my rounds 3 and 4 picks and then messed up my own original plan of 4-2-3-1 where Fab would’ve been ably abetted by Ndidi or the like. Instead I had to toss away Ndidi to ensure I got a full back.
