At the Royal Cort to see both the top 2 tracks, great gig, heartland nearly brought the roof off.
Saw them at the RC about 6 yrs ago (poss the first time they played there - and they're back again in October), I thought the RC was not conducive to a good atmosphere (shite), girls at the front getting told not to dance which upset the band, but they keep going back.
Saw them in Manchaster and Birmingham in the 80's as well - good concerts. But Berlin recently was awesome (except you can't find a pub there).

Fucking love this track mate, little piano solo  blows me away.....
"this is the land where nothing changes, a land of red buses and blue blooded babies,
this is the place where pensioners are raped , and their hearts are being cut from the welfare state.
let the poor drink their milk,  while the rich eat their honey.
Let the bums count their blessings , while they count their money"

Fucking should remind everyone why the Tories should get fucked right off now, we used to have a go in the 80's and could see the c*nts for what they are, c*nts.

Ha, got tickets to take me lad and on the day he was really ill so took me daughter who was about 8 at the time. She endured the support bloke then fell asleep just as Level 42 came on and slept for two hours.

Fucking should remind everyone why the Tories should get fucked right off now, we used to have a go in the 80's and could see the c*nts for what they are, c*nts.

The Etonion twats are almost in, Brown could have painted over the fiasco of the wars but instead he's made them look unelectable. Politicians are c*nts anyway.

Mostly renowned for Pretty in Pink, which is on that album, the Psychedelic Furs' best song is  this...http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IaI0joa1Eho

I liked the original Pretty In Pink (1981), the film one was weak (sax, up tempo, less discord).

In retrospect it's virtually a Lou Reed tribute, "Caroline laughs..." etc.

I've rarely seen a front man move more awkwardly, like he's doing 'Bowie moves' for wnat of something else to do.

I was surprised how modern this still sounds (no drums, almost all synth loops):
Japan: Ghosts (single)
Japan: Ghosts (live), Old Grey Whistle Test 1982
...and the quality of David Sylvian's voice.
Bill Shankly invites reporters into the changing room to meet his new captain, Ron Yeats:
"I've just signed a colossus. Come in and walk round him…"

I understand what you mean about the PF's. I loved a few songs but to be honest  I'm not a lover of the band. You obviously know a bit more about them.
Glad you appreciate DS. This guy is awesome. Some of Japan's songs were ahead of there time but he moved on to spectacular songs later as a solo artist.

I only just remember late Japan videos, I've just seen what they were looked like when they were doing songs in the late 70s.

It's like an missing incarnation of Spinal Tap.  :o

Japan: Sometimes I Feel So Low
Japan - Sometimes I Feel So Low / European Son (Live in Japan)

There's a whole catalogue of groups in the eighties so influenced by Bowie's Berlin albums with Brian Eno. Each of them referenced in...

Christiane F (Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo'), 1981.[Part 1 of 13]

Incl. David Bowie: Station to Station
