It's like the old us, except still no threat from set-pieces and unable to finish.

The chances we've missed are criminal. At the crucial moment, rushing shots or slipping.

Jota gets a double brace in that half, but other than that it's been almost perfect.

Especially love Phillips showing everyone else what a a perfectly weighted pass looks like. Some lovely firm pings along the ground out of defence.

We've been dominant, and the last ten minutes of the first half Madrid started to flag really badly. We should be 3 or 4 up and that isn't an exaggeration. Come on lads, this is there for us.

Can't ask for more.. Well a goal would have been nice.. But in all honesty, all the boys out there have done us proud..

Mane.. Gini.. Firmino.. Have all justified their place in the starting XI..

We could easily be 3-0 up..

Salah's two chances.. 5 minutes after KO and 5 minutes from HT, followed by Gini's shot over the bar were gilt edged opportunities..

At times, Real looked like an expensively assembled BUS 🚌..

Jota and Salah to win it for us in the second half..

Shaqiri to play an important role..

Good half from us. We had three great chances to go ahead and should have taken one of them. Firmino and Mane need to sharpen up a bit. Modric is getting too much time on the ball.

If we can get the first goal then I think we’ll go onto win 2-0.

The amount of simulation they get up to. Every time they lose the ball they look like one of ours tried to kill them. If nobody ever gets booked for it, we ought to just do the same I would say.

Not for the first time this year our shooting has been appalling.
People can bleat on about Van Dijk, injuries etc but a huge amount of our poor form has been down to half the team's complete inability to strike a ball properly half the time.

No had to finish the change in the 2nd minutes perhaps it came too early in the game for him but he didn't quite catch it!

I was doubtful about that midfield but it's certainly had the run of Real. I've been really impressed by how composed Phillips looks on the ball too. But everyone can see the problem - the finishing, and often the last ball, has been ludicrously bad. We should be ahead in the tie by now.

Doing everything right except score - energy, hard tackling, moving them around - Gini and Milner have been excellent.

Real look knackered - maybe the Classico took it out of them at the weekend. Let's get right into them from the off in the second half.
